Old Night Breaks at Last · 10:46pm Jul 5th, 2016
Four years. It's been nearly four years since I last logged back into the site. Funny how now, of all times, I find the courage to break my silence.
Back in 012.M3, I made promises to keep posting my story. "A bit longer" was the response I would give. At that time, however, I was in my junior year of college and life was becoming increasingly hectic for me. At the same time, I found myself drifting further away from MLP. I wasn't a fan of how the third season ended. Yes, I am one of those people. It was not long before I stopped looking at the site altogether.
But let me be clear on one thing: it was never my intention to give up this story. Even after all this time, despite my hands being frozen with fear of inadequacy, I still retain some of the ideas that I had for this story. And today, for the first time in years, I started working on the fifth chapter again.
I will not promise that it will be done this next week, or even this month. I am currently attending an internship where internet access is spotty, when it comes at all. What I will promise is that this will not go unfinished, even if it takes years.
I am sorry to make promises before that I could not keep, but I am even more sorry that I did not have the decency to admit my inability to keep those promises. It is not something that stays with me, but I do occasionally see the documents of previous chapters on my computer and become uncomfortably aware of a bridge left half-finished. I only hope that those who enjoy this story are willing to wait just a little longer before the true scope of the story becomes clear.
The Emperor may protect, but it is up to us to be worthy of His sacrifice.
