I play an awful lot of Widowmaker. I just doubt my ability to get this good at sniping with a controller. I wish there were some tips geared towards console players. All the videos I've found so far have been for PC.
I suck at sniping...getting a headshot for me is nigh impossible. 9 times out of 10 I just say "To hell with it!" switch to a regular weapon and just take single shots (even selecting the single shot option if the game allows) which work well enough for long range scenarios. It's so bizarre...god knows I can't hit anything with a high powered sniper rifle at point blank range but damn it...for some reason I can pick people off like nobody's business with a flipping pistol if need be.
The only suggestion I can give to help with aiming, and generally everything when it comes to first person console games, is to jack up the sensitivity on the controller so your response time is faster. That or just...you know...be a cheater and get an aimbot so you'll never miss ever again...and subsequently lose every gaming friend you ever had. It's like having the Blue-Shell from Mario Kart 24/7...it's not called the Friendship Destroyer for nothing after all.
4066568 Mmm... nah, I think I'll do what the guy suggests in the video and just scale back my scope sensitivity by a helluvalot. I need to line up my shots better, not do twitch sniping. I get lucky on hits like that like 30% of the time. :/
My scoped accuracy isn't horrible, actually (by this guy's standards) but I'm not good enough for competitive play.

30% is pretty good...remember even professional Baseball players are lucky to hit the ball 30% of the time.
Using a scope in competitive play? You're doing it wrong ma'am...it's all bout that 360 no scoping. Get those 1 in a million shots and post it to youtube for everyone to feel envious over. ...that's still a thing right? I haven't really played competitively since BF3 and MW2/3 and it was all the rage on youtube...I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't anymore and be really grateful as well because I never found the appeal of it whatsoever.
4066602 Yeeeah... Overwatch isn't like that. Every character has their strengths, which they rely heavily on, and then their weaknesses which leaves them balanced to be fairly countered. Widowmaker isn't lethal at all with her rifle unscoped. Like AT ALL. I mean, when combined with her venom mine and accurate, sustained rifle fire on a Tracer, DVA, or some other unshielded, unarmored 200 health hero, you CAN come out on top (and I have half the time) but in most instances any situation that calls for unscoped is a situation where you need to run the fuck away or prepare to respawn. I NEVER use my rifle for even mid-range opponents. Scoped till I see the whites of their eyes.

I never played Overwatch and I didn't even know what the hell it was even at launch and I remember I was at gamestop with a couple of
assholes"responsible college students" and we all didn't know what it was...even the guy working there didn't know. Now apparently it's popular along with another one I can't remember the name to...Bloodborne...no...but it's something like that I think. And I sort of feel left behind since I can't play online anymore. Am I that out of date or something?I don't know...I predict the game will be deserted in 2-3 years anyways like most online oriented games when the next big online thing comes out so maybe it's just a fad train that I've missed out on...yet again. I think I've missed so many fad trains now that the train station security guards might force me out for loitering.
Oh well...at least I have No Man's Sky to look forward to...now all I have to do is figure out what the hell the point of that game is as well and I'll be golden.
Sigh. If you ever hear of a deal for Overwatch at $30 or below, I'll play, dang you...
