RWBY Volume 4 was recently announced and with it came some interesting concept art. It's the cast of RWBY set a few years in the future! All the characters have redesigns, so let's look over them, shall we?
Ruby
Absolutely loving this one!
Ruby here looks like a war-torn hero who has clearly seen some shit. Her skirt is different, her cape is all tattered up, and those leggings are just perfect, in a word. Also liking those belts on her boots; really gives her a unique feel! Loving the long-sleeved blouse as well, and that backpack belt thing? Ah... it's perfection! Overall, I'm just really liking her new design. Also, I'm glad that Rooster Teeth didn't forget about the female anatomy.
Because, y'know...
...boobs.
Weiss
The ice queen is back.
Weiss looks very formal, as if she hasn't seen combat in years. I'm not sure if she wanted to be all formal and whatever during that time, but here she is now in a shimmering dress that I actually really like! Also, that scarf around her waist? Yeah, that's amazing. Loving those sapphire gems on her clothing as well; it gives a sense that she's rich and she can wear shit like that. Her ponytail, I think at least, is also curled around a bit. And maybe center-aligned?
I dunno, it's hard to see at this angle.
Blake
Kitty!
Blake is probably my favorite out of the four, to tell you the truth. She looks like a proper on-the-run mercenary! Not saying she IS one, but we'll see. Her thigh-high black boots are already incredible, but what absolutely sells her for me is her long white coat. The Gambol Shroud on her back though is amazing, to be honest. This looks like concept art for an upcoming Assassin's Creed styled video game starring Blake Belladonna! Which I'd play, by the way.
Rooster Teeth, you already co-developed a RWBY game before!

Yang
This one actually makes me sad.
Yang's redesign is incredible. You may think it looks lazy and uninspired, but that's the point! Yang's happiness has basically diminished, and she's nothing more than a hollow version of herself. As with the design itself, unfortunately no robot arm but that was to be expected. But that coat and those pants are really something to-
...wait a second. Is that...?

I love the direction that they're taking RWBY. They're making it more 'Mature' if you know what I'm saying. The designs are wonderful, Yang looks like she needs a hug, and it's all just REFRESHED WAIFU MATERIAL!!!
Also, I still hope we get to see Pyrrha's ghost like one last time before the series ends. I loved her too much for her to be just gone. Forever. And ever.

People love saying Pyrrha's gone forever, but everyone forgets Penny because they believe she can be rebuilt. But she can't. Well, obviously physically she can, but Penny was infused with aura that gave her life.
In short, she had a soul. And once souls are gone, they're gone. In fact, Penny's got it even worse than Pyrrha. If there IS a life after death, Pyrrha would be there due to her organic origins, but Penny wouldn't be there. She's a machine infused with raw aura, and thus her soul basically evaporated when she died.
Her soul ceased to exist.
