Why is my OC a dog and not a pony?

Well, to start of, I am not a Furry. I actually didn't know what that was until a month ago. The reason for my OC is that before I was into MLP I found another show called Pound Puppies. I really liked it and started watching it, I have seen every episode and was unfortunately cancelled in 2014. While watching it I made my OC a dog and dubbed it SC. Then on November, 2015, I started watching MLP. When I heard of pony OCs I made one. Unfortunately I didn't know that alicorn OCs were frowned upon. Ever since then I've never made a pony OC and have kept my dog OC instead. But one of my dear friends, ZapWBolt made an OC for me. I thought it was pretty cool! Thanks Zap!
