Starlight Glimmer (Part 1) Extended Scene · 2:48pm Jun 24th, 2016
Here is the original (and longer) version of the Rarity and Lightfall scene at the end of the chapter:
Rarity shook the thoughts out of her head, instead choosing to focus on the pony before her.
"Want some tea, Sw– ...er... Pardon me, but what was your name again?" she asked.
"Lightfall," the pony replied, smiling wearily. "And no thanks."
"So...coffee?" Rarity asked lamely.
"Er, no actually," Lightfall clarified.
More silence.
"Want to sit down?" Rarity offered. "You look tired."
Lightfall brushed a lock of her mane back. "Must be Sunset. She really isn't as light as she looks."
The two chuckled distractedly, plopping down on an end of the sofa each. Rarity's end was partially scorched, the nearest to the shattered coffee table. Squirming away from the charred fabric, she glanced at Lightfall. "You're in the Royal Guards, aren't you?"
"Yep, Hyperion Guards, actually. I've been General since I was 28. So, like, for five years," –she trained her near luminescent eyes on Rarity–"How'd you know?"
"Oh, you know. Newspapers and all," Rarity said, vaguely. "I'm illiterate, but your mane's pretty recognisable in the pictures."
"Ah."
"Er... don't get me wrong... it's pretty unique," Rarity gushed. "Kind of chic, really."
"Yeah, I know it looks like a pile of blue rectangles on my head, I know," she deadpanned.
At least you're aware...
The two lapsed into silence again.
This was going to be a long day.
Why wasn't this in the story? It's relatively interesting, even amusing, and I'm having a hard time seeing how it wouldn't fit.

Huh. I kinda thought the scene was a little too dragged out, which was why I cut it. Also, the main reason that the scene was originally this long was to give Lightfall some exposition and to inject some humour about her strange mane-do, and I frankly thought that most people wouldn't give a damn about it cuz, you know, OC.
