Elementary my dear watson

Both me and my ex girlfriend (I do have social skills, shocking, I know) both like sherlock holmes, and the modern adaption, but the thing is, we like different ones, she likes the british 'Sherlock' whereas I like the american 'Elementary'. I've been curious for a while, could Fimfiction be counted as a social media website? I mean, we're being social, but I'm still not sure.
