Review Roundup: May 23rd - June 3rd · 3:07pm Jun 5th, 2016

Hey! Wanna write a blog post for One Man's Pony Ramblings?

I solicit these every summer for while I'm on vacation, and I've gotten somewhat fewer responses than usual so far. Have we, the ponyfic readers/writers/reviewers, finally run out of things to say about writing and/or ponies? Or maybe it's just that people are still dealing with the end of the school year; my fault for having an earlier vacation than usual this year. In any case, the point is that I could use a few more people, so if you've got any interest in writing a review, an opinion about writing, an advice column, or anything else, hit that link up above and let me know!

Now then, here's what you've been missing if you haven't been keeping up with my blog:

Monday, May 23, 2016: Fandom Classics Part 165: Arrow 18 Mission Logs: Lone Ranger

My review of Admiral Tigerclaw's first-contact fic. Also, pictures of Carrot Top. The two are mostly unrelated.

Wednesday, May 25, 2016: Mini-Reviews Round 136

Short reviews of Chapter's End, by Bluegrass Bloke; Life is Precious, by BronyDad; and Cream and Sugar, by OnionPie.

Friday, May 27, 2016: GUEST POSTS NEEDED (It's That Time of Year Again)

...What, didn't you read the above-the-break bit?

Monday, May 30, 2016: Mini-Reviews Round 137

Short reviews of Memory Lapse, by Psyga315; Rarity's Fashion Alman-yak, by Ceffyl Dwr; and The Royal Wedding, by uSea.

Wednesday, June 1, 2016: How Responsible Is a Reviewer?

A few thoughts on the unintended consequences of reviewing.

Friday, June 3, 2016: Fandom Classics Part 166: Princess Twilight Sparkle's 500th Birthday

My review of Autumnschild's tale of... well, you read the title, didn't you?

I mean I could write an article entitled:
" why you should keep writing even though you kind of suck", because that's about the only thing I feel like an authority on.

4000181 Hey, that's my topic. :pinkiehappy:

I was *thinking* about doing a short set of reviews about ponies eating meat in Fimfiction, but I'm waffling on it. (Reasoning: EqD just bounced one of my stories for this reason, and I'm feeling grouchy.)
(Revised: Maybe-bounced. Seems it's bouncing back into the queue. Still, the idea is tempting.)

I'm pretty sure "why you should keep writing even though you kind of suck" would be one of the most universally applicable topics ever covered on my blog.

You have my permission to work one (1) dig at the pre-readers into your OMPR column. I would ask that you direct it specifically at PresentPerfect, though, because I'm dying to know what the appropriate emoji for "I just got dissed on some guy's fanfic blog" is!

June 22nd; you've got a bit more than two weeks!

4003653 Heck, I can't ding a pre-reader. They do an amazing job that I could never match. I struggle every writeoff just to put a sentence or two together about what I just read. I'll... consider it.

The problem with that question is that :V and :B are both so beautifully ambiguous that one or both of them probably cover that situation. Or, really, any situation at all.

"Still a better love story than Twilight." :B

"Kylo, you're collecting whose body parts?!" :V

"The good news is she liked the three-way. The bad news is she broke up with me for the mime." :B

"Uh, Mr. President, while you were in the bathroom we accidentally gave the nuclear launch codes to a small dog we mistook for you." :V
