    Revised Harmony Spirits

I wanted a full set of these with proper art, so with permissions from mauroz, here they are. A couple effects have been tweaked to be consistent with modern vernacular in the card game and for my own better understanding of card design and balancing, and I also added a new "Tier 1.5" form for Twilight so she can have her own Fusion outside the ace monster, and finally added Sunset as a

Flutter Brutter S6E11 Recap · 4:03pm Jun 4th, 2016

Fluttershy DOES have a family!

Rainbow Dash was in this episode basically to voice the audience's opinions on things. Every facial expression and line of dialogue she had parroted my own. Zephyr Breeze is one of the most annoying characters the show has given us since Snips and Snails. I have to presume he was intended to be that way because we're supposed to sympathize with Fluttershy. However, there's a problem - Zephyr is annoying, and we don't want to spend the episode focusing on him.

Look, we've all been there - living at home with no job, trying to make it on our own and move out but we can't manage it. Hell, I'm there right now. You know what the difference is? I'm trying. Zephyr is not. Fluttershy gets him simple jobs to try and help him and he shows himself as stupid and lazy in all of them. He turns out to be afraid of failing, but his actions in the rest of the episode don't mesh with that when he avoids doing even the simplest of jobs. And the job aside, Zephyr is just an ass. He makes other ponies wait on him, avoids doing anything for himself, makes a mess, and is generally a layabout.

Beyond that, the episode does have some good points. I liked seeing Fluttershy assertive and she was overall well-handled, and the joke about her being "peeved" was funny. Also, some great animation in this episode with the manes and faces. As a whole this season has a lot of good animation and the team has stepped up their game. Though, the songwriters kinda missed the mark here, with a song that was totally forgettable and bland. Not to mention it was shoved into the last two minutes of the episode.

So, as a Fluttershy episode, good for building on her family and personality. As an episode meant to showcase new characters, a flop. I doubt anyone is going to be stumbling over themselves writing for Zephyr Breeze in a way that isn't some sort of fixfic.

Oh how I wanted to punch Zephyr's smug face. I think there were even moments that had my blood boiling.

At least we know about Fluttershy's parents now... which is actually kind of a shame. I always liked the "ironically loud and imposing Flutterparents" trope.

no joke i actually had a story idea involving a brother for Flutters, however he wouldn't have been like this, far from it. He'd be the more typical brother, both a loving brother and one who playfully teases his sister just to get a rile out of her.

Loved the episode. Still want to punch Zephyr Breeze. Thought the song was really out of place, and took a point off my score for it.

3997993 I'm gonna take a page out of the reddit discussion and suggest six months in Yakyakistan for peacekeeping operations.

"Peacekeeping" of course meaning that whenever the Yaks need someone to punch, they can beat up Zephyr instead of Blueblood.

This is one of the few episodes in recent years that I finished thinking "I really loved the faces". I mean, Fluttershy's were just perfect. :D

When Fluttershy said she was peeved, I'll bet she wanted to say "Pissed".

I thought the episode was hilarious and dynamic, especially compared to last week's. Yeah, Zephyr isn't the best character, but he served as a great foil to Fluttershy.

3997993 I think the writers have a rule on some songs. "We've got 3 minutes left in an episode and we need to jam 80% of the character growth in. How do we write it?" "Easy, a musical!"

3998836 It does seem to be a thing ever since Haber took the lead role.

3998419 I also think that it provides some social commentary on an attitude of layabouts sometimes seen today (although these people in current society are in the places they are for various more reasons than 'being afraid of failure', a subject matter that I feel could have been expanded on a lot more than it was in the episode).
Of course I might be just looking too deep into it; and I concur with everyone else the faces where amazing :rainbowderp:
