Dare you enter my magical realm?

    Hey folks,

I'm starting a Tails of Equestria tabletop RPG game on Roll20/Discord, and I'm looking for players. And it would probably be based in the Birthdayverse AU.

So far I've got Lord Commander in on it and we are starting next Monday at 7:00pm PST. Anyone else want in?

So I bought a laptop again

    Hey folks,

I live! Sorry for the long silence. I've been hard at work, and my primary internet device for the last few years has been my iPad. But, I've decided to get back into the laptopy ways because... well the iPad is a really passive way of consuming the internet. Glass screens don't really engender a lot of typing.

Waiting on change · 11:01pm Jun 2nd, 2016

Hi all,

I recently got a bit back into ponywords, working on L-Comm's Empress Rarity's 251st Birthday. It was nice to be behind the keyboard again. But I fear it may not happen for my own stories for some time.

I am not done with my stories, though you may be done with them, if that makes sense. I don't suspect that many of you are still around, since I haven't added more words to the stories that I own in some time. I think I'm waiting on the series to end, so I can play around in the setting without all that pesky cannon to ruin my fun. It's hard to write in a future that ignores the present when you want to be faithful to the material. It leads to a lot of hand-wringing over which hair to split which way. Frustrating is the word that comes to mind. I'm also waiting on more free time. My life is very busy now. We've got family obligations, we've got chores, we've got work, we've got baseball we've got a teenage driver in the family now, we've got friends passing away due to cancer and other long term health issues that caught up with them. Not a lot of time for the tv. Not a lot of time for the ponies.

But the lessons learned stay with us. There's always time for friendship, so always bring that little bit of friendship wherever you go.

Peace like a river,

-Dan

I'm still here! You're words remain one of my all-time favorites to this day!

I rarely stop following an author, and usually because their stories lose my interest. Holding on to watches, at least for stories, sometimes is rewarded with the author coming back and me getting to go "Oh, oh, geeze, THAT story!" and it's kinda like getting an unexpected gift in the mail. ;)

I totally get the inertia of having trouble starting/continuing something when the basic premise could be utterly undermined by a change in canon. :/ It's hard to overcome.

Things may come and things may go some go fast and some go slow. Few things last that's all I know but friendship carries on through the ages

How fitting to see a book on how Linux works near some ponies...

... because the answer is clearly "Magic". :rainbowwild:
:facehoof:

Anyway, I am patient. Whenever the Birthdayverse returns, I'll be there to read it!

I'm still here too, and IMO the AU tag solves all woes if it comes to that. :)

Look, son, I'm still waiting for Gravekeeper to update his stories.

Nerds can wait a long time. You can't kill that which has no life.

I am still here, as well!:pinkiehappy:

As a reader, I'm not too concerned with how well a story fits the canon, as long as it doesn't break my willing suspension of disbelief. I think keeping the story internally consistent is more important than canon continuity. Take, for example, The Keepers of Discord. It was written well before "Keep Calm and Flutter On" (let's reform Discord), but I didn't see it until after. I still LOVE that story.

'who's this shady bloke?'
Gonna have to recall your stories, I know I liked you as an author, just don't rember what you wrote.
Welcome back to writing.

I ain't going nowhere, dude. As, when - or indeed if, for life can through nasty surprises at you, despite your best intentions - you find time energy and motivation to write again, I'll still be waiting patentiy.

I have some sympathy with regard to family issues. We had a big scare early this year when my Mum had an unexpected stroke (no-one still knows what caused it). I can only count are blessing that she has made a remarkable recovery and is more or less back to being able to do things independatly again (though she stills tires easily, since she suffers with FM tpo.) So for what little help it is, I send my consolations and good wishes both to you, your family and friends who are or have had such problems.

Is that Celestia and Cadance joining forces to free carousel horses from their endless running in circles?

Also, you are an author worth waiting for. Still looking forward to whatever you type up next, whether soon or sometime in the future when the pesky source material is not causing you so much frustration.
