My motivation for completing this story is being seriously tested.
The story has now received two poor ratings and two good ratings, averaging out at 2.8 stars and still no explanations for the low star count. This has a devastating effect on a writer's morale, especially so early in the story's creation.
From my point of view, my story is getting trashed without reason. Anyone who actually has a valid reason for disliking a story needs to leave a comment explaining as much, otherwise guess what? You're going to continue to be plagued with poorly written stories because nobody explained what was wrong with any of them. For that matter, explaining what you like about a story is just as important.
I'm the kind of guy who likes to interact with his audience and takes suggestions seriously. But if my stories are just going to be bashed without explanation, and if those who actually do enjoy the story aren't going to bother to say so, I may need to pack up and take my writing where it will at least be discussed.
I was under the impression that this site was a place for fans of My Little Pony to write about, share, and discuss stories. I was also under the impression that the MLP fiction community was supportive and happy to offer suggestions for improvement.
I can only hope I wasn't misled.
