This chapter took me all day to write. I wanted accurate descriptions of Canterlot and a clear depiction of the relationship between James and Apple Bloom. I think I was finally able to pull it off without too many grammatical errors or "filler" paragraphs in the story.
This chapter almost hits 2000 words, which is more than the average thus far, but still far fewer than the amount found in an average novel (around 3000+). I want to keep the pace between chapters quick, but I want to keep them long enough to allow a reader to become absorbed in the story as well.
As an interesting bit of trivia: the main protagonist's name, James, was chosen when an early reader mentioned reading the entire prologue in his mind using the voice of James Sutherland, the main protagonist in the classic survival horror game - Silent Hill 2.
