Like many users on this site, I have far too many fics in my Read It Later bookshelf. Unlike most of those users, I have a plan to get through it.
I'll write reviews of the stories I read.
It might seem counter-intuitive to do that. Motivate myself to do something by adding more work on top of it? That's silly! Except that if I promise to do something, I'll be more likely to do it. At least, that's what I'm banking on here. If I make this Review It Later thing a thing, then I'll feel obligated to keep it up.
There's obviously not going to be any theme here except for "things I found interesting," and I'll be limiting myself to completed fics, at least at first. I'm gonna start off with one-shots in the 10k range to get the ball rolling, then alternate between shortfics, mediumfics, and longfics. And I might even cross-post to Rage Reviews if a story irks me enough or otherwise moves me to spam the rubes share the review with a larger audience.
I'm kind of excited for this, and I hope to have something out early next week.
