Explanations, And A Short Break · 6:21am Sep 1st, 2012
I'm quite happy to see how well some of my stories have been doing. A Dash of Apple in particular has proved to be quite rewarding, as it has been both a blast to write, and awesome to see the great feedback it gets. Heck, it was also my first (and so far only) fic to show up in the Featured Box, which was tooooootally awesome. :D
But, I'm not blind to the fact that several of my other stories have been, well... languishing, to be honest. I haven't been updating them as much as I should, but I have my reasons. It's not like I've completely turned my back on them or anything. But a lot of my focus has been on A Dash of Apple due to it's fun and popularity, and I've been finding myself lacking in creativity and inspiration in regards to some of my other fics. I'll admit, I'm kinda stuck on Swip-Swap. And on top of this, I have three fic requests I've received, and those projects are naturally a higher priority than some of my personal fics.
So for the time being, I'm going to be putting a few fics on temporary hiatus. Keyword: TEMPORARY. I don't want anyone flipping out, thinking that I've dropped all interest in a fic they like. But I also don't want people getting their hopes up for a brand new chapter at any moment. (I will admit, there are some fics I like which I constantly hope will update soon, often to my nearly-continuous disappointment.) So, I'm going to be putting Quest For The Silver Crown and Swip-Swap on Hiatus for a few weeks, for various reasons. Pinkie And The Raptor will hopefully be getting an update long before then, though I'm still hammering out the details for the next chapter, which may take awhile.
Now, aside from putting these stories on hiatus, I will also be taking a short break from writing for the next several days. I have been writing almost constantly for the last few weeks. Aside from these fan fics, I'm also active on several forums, and I both run and play in several online play-by-post roleplaying games. So, to avoid burnout and to allow my creativity and motivation to recover, I'll be taking a bit of a literary vacation. Several days at the least, maybe a week or so at max. During that time, I'm afraid I won't be updating any of my current fan fics, or posting any new ones. So if somebody starts fretting over my silence and lack of activity, that's the reason.
With any luck, I'll return with a chapter or 3 for A Dash of Apple, maybe a chapter for Pinkie and the Raptor, and unless things go horribly wrong, a brand spankin' new PinkiexBraeburn oneshot to satisfy somebody's request.
Hopefully I won't return with like 5 new fan fics ideas competing for my attention, as well. But we all know that's probably what's gonna happen. XD
