These are approximations of the original characters in "Sunshine and Fire," created using generalzoi's pony creator software thing. I figured that since I went to the trouble of creating these (for some reason), I might as well display them here, right? I don't really know if tagging blogposts with various trivia is something other authors do, so forgive me if you got an unwanted notification from this. You'll notice they all lack cutie marks - that's because I simply do not have the patience to find suitable images and splice them on the characters' asses.
Brainy Bright
An earth pony magical theorist and inventor of a spell for creating dimensional portals. Brainy Bright is renown for his brilliance, but has grown discontent with the political and social realities of Equestria. His cutie mark is a magical rune with an unknown meaning.
Glint Hardhoof
Loner and former earth pony rebel. Glint was the head of the Apple Underground for decades, but feels he failed as a leader and never accomplished anything. The wise and stoic Glint feels for the down-trodden earth ponies. He does not regard himself as a member of Applejack's group, but gives her advice and recruits members for her all the same. His cutie mark is gray horseshoe.
Emerald Hope
An earth pony environmentalist and steward of the Apple Underground. Emerald Hope is neurotic and uncomfortable with responsibility, but passionate about protecting nature and masterful at crunching numbers. Her cutie mark is a watering can.
Chequy
A Zebrican assassin working with the Apple Underground. Born to a pegasus soldier and a zebra mare, the dark and serious Chequy was brought up by rebels fighting Queen Celestia's occupation forces in Zebrica. She was, however, shunned for her heritage and eventually assigned to Equestria to work with the new allies of the zebra resistance - the Apple Underground. Her cutie mark is a throwing glaive.
Brightsmile
The bastard son of one of Queen Celestia's top generals. The Apple Underground kidnapped and held Brightsmile hostage to blackmail his father, but found that the father didn't care one bit about his son's wellbeing. Since then, the educated but somewhat pervy Brightsmile has become an informal member of the Underground. His cutie mark is a shooting star.
Prime Minister Gelding
The Prime Minister of Equestria and top adviser to Queen Celestia. The clinically dispassionate Gelding is almost legendary in Equestria, but nopony seems to know much about him. Although incapable of magic, Gelding was the head of the unicorn Secret Police for as long as anypony could remember, until his position was ousted by Celestia's protege Daylight Sparkle. His cutie mark is a black wheel.
Duke Blueblood (okay, so he's not an OC)
General of Equestria's ground forces. Although lacking much skill as a leader, a distant relation to the Queen has given Blueblood a strong sense of superiority. He is known for his dalliances with various highborn ladies. Blueblood has a large facial scar and is blind in one eye - his lesson not to anger Celestia. His cutie mark is a compass rose.
Duchess Redsky
Commander of Equestria's Air Force. Redsky is the most important pegasus in the world. She is known to be a capable fighter, quick to anger and utterly vicious. Redsky is not like other ponies. Her cutie mark is a black feather dripping with blood.
Agent Striker
Operative of the Secret Police. Striker is a jovial but ruthless pony, with a reputation for enjoying his work. He is the owner of the dragon Blitz. Striker is also a Gelding loyalist. His cutie mark is a bolt of lightning, bent like a horseshoe.
