Having watched today's episode after a week of waiting, I must say that this episode is quite good. At first I was a little worried that Trixie would come back to her old ways (and for a brief moment of lip slip she did), when really she was just dropping by. And of course, there are going to be a dozen of fics (maybe more, maybe less. For example, to my surprise there haven't been as much TenderBloom fics as there have been Ember X Spike fics) regarding the episode. I was a little sketchy about Twilight's character in this episode, but then again she could have been fishy about Trixie after "Rainbow Rocks."

In the Jongojiverse, as the Pony Trixie becomes the second Mare Do Well, the premise of the episode remains the same, though the magician would in fact be investigating a crime after a series of incidents happen in Ponyville. This is also the same point that Sunset would suggest to Twilight, "find some common ground between her." It's a godsend of answer for me; I was starting to think that I would have to use the Human Trixie in the Pony World.

As for "The Rubicon," now with a small bit of my conscience cleared, I plan to add a chapter that incorporates Flash Sentry into the story. I won't tell you the basic premise, but I can give you a riddle: The title is a parody of a comic book arc that bears his name. You may notice as well that I haven't (or at least not yet) brought the Shadow Bolts into the ring. The reason being, I have already well over twenty characters playing the hero/villain parts, and to be fair find their characters to be a little vague (at best I know of four; Indigo Zap is a Rainbow Dash Clone, Lemon Zest has a bit of a Vinyl Vibe, Sugarcoat is honest (albeit blunt), and Sour Sweet is two faced).

Last thing I would want to bring up for this blog is my OC X Canon pairing, Apple Bloom and Cosgrove. Brought up again from the Old Timeline's Ballad of the Brobdingnag with a mixed bag with the New Timeline's A Maximal Crusader, as I continue writing "The Rubicon" and in light of a very slow but strong rise in TenderBloom fics, there are several things in my mind right now about the pairing. True you have read in the previous dozen fics that Cosgrove's family and friends go to the neighborhood party at the end of the summer, and Cosgrove himself works at Sweet Apple Acres time to time, but childhood friendships don't always lead to pairings. The Maximal would come to grips as he realizes that his actions would create more enemies, bringing Cosgrove and his friends further in mud.

I am brainstorming a few ideas on how this would eventually play out at the end of "The Rubicon" and possibly the upcoming 2nd Person fic "Vacant Niches."

1) Apple Bloom tells him what he had told her outside of school, that what happened is part of life and time will heal all wounds. She would then stay at his side, and eventually fill a "big sister" gap that Dapplewood had begun to miss once the human Sunset Shimmer graduates and leaves town.

2) Summer passes by without getting an answer from Apple Bloom, but after he does see her dance with Tender Taps, Cosgrove accepts her decision and begins to adjust to the news (which is a little tough for him, as he didn't get an answer soon). However, Anon notices Apple Bloom struggling to fill an empty gap in her heart. Tender Taps notices this too, but the Crusader shrugs his concern as well as Anon's. Granny Smith and Big Mac then talk to her alone, telling her that, "If you still have feelings for him, go to him." Still retaining memory, Apple Bloom would find Cosgrove for the first time at Turtle Park, overlooking the plaza. After a little chat, the two hook back up. There is the probability of a love triangle at this point if accepted.

3) Apple Bloom tells Cosgrove that they are friends, but after what has happened after the past few months, this wouldn't work out at all. Cosgrove accepts this and moves on.
