Music Legend Prince Dead at Age 57 · 7:52pm Apr 21st, 2016

He was eccentric. He was a visionary. He was a legend.

He was one of those artists those of us who grew up in the 80s and 90s hold in the same reverence as Michael Jackson.

And now, he's gone.

Rest in peace, Prince. Your legend will live on forever, as will your music.

(For wrestling fans, don't worry, I haven't overlooked Chyna's death. And there will still be a weekly death blog. It's just that this one's special and of personal importance to me.)

So a prince in England has died huh? :applejackunsure:

What's the tally up to know? First Bowie; then Prince. Who else is next?

3886761 Are you trying to be funny? Because this is really not the time to be funny.

In great respect of this fallen legend, I'm gonna party like's it's 1999.

3886786 I have on my raspberry beret.

I'm in Minneapolis. This one hurts. A lot. I'm going to a concert at First Avenue next week, and it'll be rough.

3886765 There's also George Martin, though he was a composer.

Him too!? Seriously this year is a real hecatomb.

And at 57 in addition, I thought he was older, I check up the cause of death and apparently he died because of the flu. :derpyderp1: I can't believe it was still possible to die from the flu outside of the Third World.

3886782
No I wasn't trying to be funny I actually thought you where talking about a real prince from England until I read a post from my brother about this subject. I really had no idea who Prince was so yeah sorry about that.

3886888 Not knowing who Prince is? How the hell is that even possible?

3886974

simple I don't listen to music of any kind unless it is pony music from the my little pony show or it is bagpipes or opera

3886997 ...........................

....I have no response to that. :applejackunsure:

3887020

Sorry, but, as I said I only listen to pony music, opera or bagpipes which are rather peaceful and good to wake up too. I absolutely had no idea that you where talking about some person called prince and not someone that is titled a prince in England. or was born as a prince due to being in a royal family.

3887042 Dude, there's a difference between not listening to music and being ignorant. I don't care a damn thing about basketball. Doesn't mean I don't know who Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are.

3887050

Just because I don't know who prince is or be it was doesn't make me ignorant just means that I needed to learn is all. it my brother showing videos of prince on youtube for me to fully understand who prince is or rather be it was. When some one says the word prince to me I don't think of someone singing a song I think of some one in England sitting on a throne with a crown on his head. Not of some person up on stage singing. Such is the same if you where to walk right up to me in public and say 'do you know what purple rain is?" I won't think of the song that my brother showed me Prince singing I would actually think that some one is trying to make actual purple rain. Doesn't mean that I am ignorant it just means that I have to learn what it is that they are talking about is all.

I know this might sound a little weird and all but, who is prince? :applejackconfused: :rainbowhuh:

"The Ladder" by Prince (from the album Around the World in a Day)

Once upon a time in the land of Sinaplenty,
There lived a king who didn't deserve to be.
He knew not where he came from...
Nor where he was going.
He never once said thank you, never please.

Now this king, he had a subject named Electra,
Who loved him with a passion, uncontested.
For him each day she had a smile...
But it didn't matter,
The king was looking for the ladder,

Everybody's looking for the ladder,
Everybody wants salvation of the soul.
The steps you take are no easy road...
But the reward is great,
For those who want to go.

A feeling of self-worth, (everybody's looking)
Will caress you. (for the answers)
The size of the whole wide world will decrease. (how the story started)
(and how it will end)
The love of God's creation will undress you,
And time spent alone my friend, will cease.

Everybody's looking for the answers,
How the story started and how it will end.
What's the use in half a story, half a dream...
You have to climb all of the steps in between. (yeah, we ride)

Everybody's looking for the ladder,
Everybody wants salvation of the soul.
The steps you take are no easy road (the steps you take are no easy road)
(it's not that easy)
But the reward is great,
4 those who want to go. (I do)

Everybody... everybody's looking (Everybody's looking 4 the answers)
For the answers
Everybody wants to know how the story (How the story started)
Started and how it will end (started and how it will end)
What's the use in half a story, (What's the use in half a story)
Half a dream (half of a dream)
You, you gotta climb, you gotta climb (you have to climb all)
All of the steps in between... (the steps in between)

3887180 :facehoof: Just had this conversation with another person in this same thread.

3887107 So the words "Music Legend Prince" at the top of this blog post, the numerous mentions of him being a musical artist, and the link to him singing Purple Rain didn't tip you off that hey, maybe this guy is a musician? That is what you need to step back and look at: all the things in this very blog post you somehow failed to catch on to.

3887223

Sorry I scrolled past that part didn't mean to upset you, I don't normally listen to music unless it is pagan music such as 'Gaia on the river' so yes like I said I didn't mean to upset you. I was just wondering who this person was is all. I will reread your blog and learn from that. :ajsmug:

R.I.P to a music legend I've never seen, but have heard so many great things about his awesome music.:pinkiesad2: It just sucks that we're losing so many wonderful people left and right this year.:fluttercry:

I hate the number of deaths this year. So many giants are falling.

I feel really funny about this...

3888023 It's absolutely not normal for this many huge celebrities to die one right after another. :unsuresweetie:

im on death watch for billy joe and elton John

Prince is one of those artists I've never given a good listen. But I've probably heard his stuff and not known it. So beloved, so talented, he will be missed.

Also, my best friend found this...

(No offense to anyone who likes/listens to Kanye West. This is only meant to offend Kanye himself.)

My friend has the theory that the end times are coming and we're all goning to die.

Is it bad that apart from that one Animaniacs gag I've never even heard of Prince?

3916777 Kinda, yeah. I mean, he's been a huge name in music for more than 30 years...

3916862

Huh. Sorry, I guess?
