All right folks. This is going to be straight up rant about Fimfiction's block system. Hope you all enjoy.
Let's start by stating the three main points that need to be addressed:
1. Blocks do not carry over to groups. I can join any group, not realize I'm blocked by the user who created the group or any of the admins, and comment on said group's forums and even the front page without any notification. Why the heck has this not been implemented? Make it strictly to the creator of the group that his or hers blocks will make it so that no other user that they have blocked could join the group.
2. You are not notified that you are blocked until you try to comment on the user's userpage. This is so wrong that it isn't funny. Why am I being notified of a block on a page when if they are in a group of mine or someone else's, I can straight up chat with them no matter what? And even if they are not in the same group as I, I will never know that this user blocked me until something like commenting on their front page of their group happens and I get a nice swift message from an admin. Yet again, block system is not consistent.
3. Fair compensation. If I have to be notified by a site admin that I'm blocked by a user and then get completely bashed by said user (directly or indirectly does not matter), then I want compensation. If you're blocked by a user and they decide to blog about you so you can't defend yourself, then that in itself should be a ban.
To those who will reply with "but you've done blogs like that!", then I will say to you that no I haven't. If I had, then those blogs are when I had the user unblocked. Plus, that's in the past now. I'm trying to change myself for the better and if that means seeing what I've done in the past as a fault, then so be it. I know it was a wrong, so I won't do it again. Same with whatever happened today. Can we move on from this?

Oh I don't know, fixing the block system would be nice. If you're going to have a system in play, then it should check all of its corners. If it doesn't, then that feature is flawed and needs fixing.

This, yes, exactly. I once blocked a user I was fighting with, I started getting a ton of replies from that user in everythread I'd ever posted. I get the logic behind it, they don't wanna stop thread discussion, but I think this system could really stand to be improved.

3866480 Another issue, is you can only block people from groups if they stay in, there was this guy who would join my group and say shit or promote his and then leave so I couldn't block him, because he wasn't a member.

That's actually a ban not a block. A block is if you initiate it from going onto their userpage and clicking on the block icon. What you're describing is an admin (you) banning a user.
