Why is the FAQ so vague on things? · 7:56pm Apr 6th, 2016
I'm starting to get a little irritated with certain features of the site. I'm not sure why there's a restriction on how many people you can follow; I'm interested in a wide amount of people and ideas, and I read a ton of fic before making an account, keeping open waaaay too many tabs. So I started to follow the authors who had interesting ideas when I came back... and wham, on author 48, I started getting an error every time. Frustrated, I just started grabbing their stories to read later but that doesn't tell me when an entirely new story shows up, and... nothing I do seems to allow me to put new follows on. I reduced it to 44, then 42, now 41. The only thing I can find in the FAQ, which I read completely prior to joining up is:
"Following an excessive number of users is not allowed, nor is any behavior that rewards users for following you. Following is for users to use because they want to see updates in their feed, not as a reward or otherwise."
What's the excessive number? How do you know when you're under it again? If the reason is to make sure I can see updates in my feed, why's there a max at all? I guess the last one is less important; I don't make decisions here. But I can't seem to find anything, even pouring through the groups and throwing google at it that will tell me how to make it so I can re-prioritize the following. Halp!
