I'm having quite fun redesigning the world of MLP.
For those who do not know, I'm currently about to revive my old tumblr Ask Engaged Twilight. But during this revival I'm not going to be drawing ponies anymore, as I am humanizing the story. Why? Because it is fun, that is why. And I need to get back into the game of drawing for cons and commissions. haha
I still don't have much time to write fics, but I feel like I am still valuable here in story planning and art work, when I get more free time, of course.
For the story I've already gotten some basic ideas on how I'm going to draw out Twilight and Rarity. As well as trying to decide how to make Rarity's hair.
I love her hair, but the show design is annoying to do at best. For some reason it's curl has always irritated me, So I've changed it. And don't worry, she won't be dressing like a Disney princess all time, just on special occasions. I know a few of you are heart broken, though. haha
As for Twilight her outfit has been bugging me. I don't know if that little nerd should be wearing a dress or a suit... so I gave her both!
I love that hair! She is so pretty!
And for the final part of this blog I've always wondered why everyone in the MLP universe doesn't try and befriend the changelings. Once they are friends they can feed on the love of friendship and then Changelings and ponies can live at peace... This has been used in many stories.
So I thought that maybe it isn't just their appetite, nor their leadership. What if it is just the way they look? The show style is very cute, so it just doesn't do in this world of re-design I've wanted. So I am trying out a new concept. What if the Changelings looked more like this in their natural form:
A bit more nightmarish, isn't it? And most reactions I've had are "burn it with fire" once they saw this picture. Now how can a species which survives on Love be able to survive when looking like a beast everyone wants to just kill on sight? They transform into something more accepted. Like a Pony.
The entire idea of Changelings are they are monsters who are shunned and feared by society, which is why they are living in the Badlands of Equestria. They are very ruthless in their hunt, as they fear being attacked just by living. These creatures are a pony's enemy, both by choice and by the choice of their prey.
