Audio reading for Flower Crowns and Dinner Dates · 12:56pm Apr 1st, 2016
So me and ArchAngelsWings have been tossing around the idea of making audio readings for our stories for a while now, and we finally got to it 
We started with Flower Crowns and Dinner dates for a few reasons. It's the shortest complete story either of us have written, she didn't want to do Weathering the Storm (her story), I'd rather touch up By Blood or Choice and Inner Strength before making an audio version of either of them, and I would rather do Inner Strength (if not also By Blood or Choice) before doing Finding Home or Warmth in the Snow.

One last thing: I've mentioned a few times I have a Tumblr, and that's one way we're trying to spread the recording. So if anyone else here has a Tumblr and feels like doing me a favor, I'd greatly appreciate if you helped spread the word by reblogging the post here.
For future audio reading, I recommend to record it inside a closet. It helps to minimize the background noise a lot.

That's a good suggestion, and I wouldn't have thought of it, but I also don't have a closet
Maybe the bathroom might work. I think it might echo, but it's worth a shot in any event. Well play around with it, thanks for the tip
3840747 The closet is the best option due to the amount of clothing in it. It muffles any sound coming from the outside and doesn't cause echo. I guess you could make a pile of clothes and bury yourself in it, seeing as you don't have a closet.

Ah that makes sense. I'll keep that in mind for things to try as well. We'll be spending part of the summer at Angel's aunts as well, who lives in a regular house and has closets. Hopefully events will line up so that I'll be done with Finding Home by then, and thus have time to edit my older stories and we can record them there. If not than we'll probably try something like that with the clothes.
If you ever want/need an extra voice, I've always wanted to do a fanfiction reading. I am going to school for acting, after all. Plus, I got a closet.

Honestly, sitting down and recording something is a lot easier for me to do than sitting down and writing. So just let me know when you have something you'd like me to do and I would be so happy to do it.

I was actually just thinking about that! I think I'll look into starting a youtube channel. And a series for Flash's Secret is an awesome idea! Tbh, I would really like to have different people for the different characters, but I'm not sure how I would go about finding said people
How people on Youtube manage to get these high quality readings produced is beyond me. But I guess you gather people as you go along.

You know, I've never actually listened to a full cast recording of an audio reading, seems like it would be pretty cool (kinda like an audio play). I'll have to look some up sometime soon. I can see the appeal in both ways though, as having a single reader makes it feel like someone's reading the story to you.
If me and Angel get a better hold of our recording situation, she might be interested. I'd have to ask her, and we still have to experiment with what it sounds like now that we have a new headset to record with (hopefully it should help with background noise, since we aren't likely to get a closet anytime soon). I, on the other hand, would be rather horrible with that sort of thing, given that I dislike my accent, and have a minor speech impediment. I'm happy to help with editing the various sound files together, if that sort of thing is needed, though.
