Season Eight Episode Reviews: Molt Down

This week is a Spike episode? What a re-”molt”-ing development this is!

Let's look at “Molt Down,” the episode that will surely be perfectly normal and have no long-lasting repercussions on a character's appearance.

Season Eight Episode Reviews: Break Up Break Down

I dread going into this week's episode. For today, we discuss matters of the heart. Romance, love, heartbreak, and all that rot. Which means we run right into the most loathsome of all fandom constructs, the kind of thing that destroys friendships and leaves the most brilliant of minds curled up helplessly in a corner, foaming from the mouth:

    SHIPPING.

Season Eight Episode Reviews: Non-Compete Clause

We've had a string of good episodes the last few weeks. Whether it be shapeshifting seaponies, an actual Celestia episode, or discovering Starlight's dark phase, we've had lots of fun and plenty of laughs.

Today's episode is about Applejack and Rainbow Dash competing.

    The good times are over.

Season Eight Episode Reviews: Horse Play

So hey, it's a new episode. Surely nothing to be excited about. Just another standard episode of a cartoon pony show.

    Only it's a CELESTIA EPISODE!

Prepare for extra spicy biased scoring as we look at Best Princess' newest episode, “Horse Play!”

That's it, show's over. Everyone kindly move along, nothing to see here. Some other horrible cartoon did the same plot point long ago, so now FiM is doomed to the same fate.

(Episode was actually fine, btw. Not great, but enjoyable. Still don't like Starlight being there, but it worked for this plot.)

Also, more background characters are getting voices. Nice.

I liked the episode overall. :p

Flurry Heart is the most adorable character since Togepi, so I'm OK with it.

In all seriousness, I thought they handled the premiere pretty well. Starlight was, admittely, kinda forced but for what they had to work it, it turned out pretty great.

I am so hyped for next week's episode, though. Finally, after *Gary Oldman Voice* FOUR YEARS OF WAITING *Gary Oldman Voice*, we get a Pinkie and Rarity episode. :yay::

I'm ready for Starlight to go learn friendship around the world, or something. Maybe she can travel with Trixie, or go learn remedial friendship in Canterlot High.

McFlurry will be fine, I am sure. She'll be in the Crystal Kingdom, otherwise known as Offscreenia

I loved it ^.^ Twi taking the role as teacher is great since it's a growth from her being student for ages. Time to impart her wisdom!

Also, adorable babbu is adorable. :3

what other cartoon did the baby thing? I cant remember.

3828775 Fairly Odd Parents iirc

Tbh, Starlight was the only part I liked. Everypony else seemed forced, like they knew how much Sharkjumping bs was going on.

Honestly I thought it was hilarious. Panicky Shining Armor was really showing his relation to Twilight this episode. It was interesting how they essentially confirmed that Celestia and Luna were ascendants like Twilight and Cadance. Kinda hate how it was phrased though, implies that only the earning of wings grants alicornhood, as opposed to just gaining whatever wasn't present before. (Could be handwaved through that it was Rarity speaking, and Twilight's ascension is the one she was most familiar with.)

Btw, the StarBurst shipping was strong in this one. I wonder if he'll show up again.
