I was bored one day and decided to watch four episodes of the Pokemon anime where this character appears:
This is Lyra. But not pony Lyra. But may as well be since both love to ship people with each other. There's definite similarities between the two but it'd be silly going into it honestly. Like I said, she's only around for four episodes in an anime that consists of... I dunno, a million episodes at this point? Must be. Ash never grows up, so that show's never gonna die.
Anyway, I did some digging. Turns out, the Japanese voice actor for Lyra, Megumi Nakajima, also voices another Lyra in a different show...
This one! That's right, ladies and gentlemen, that is a harp. Okay, not a lyre but the harp is basically the lyre's big brother, right?
BUT THAT'S NOT ALL FOLKS! Because the same voice actor also voices something else: this fuckin' thing:
Meloetta, a legendary Pokemon. Notice its GREENNESS and the fact that its literally part MUSICAL NOTE.
Who else is green and likes music?
BAM. I've just blown your Goddamn minds.
Do you know what this all leads up to? What it all means?
...
It means I'm shitposting horribly.

P.S. In all seriousness, I am working. Expect three new oneshots, all about different ponies and subjects, relatively soonish!

If Japan ever gets a season 5 of MLP, that'd be awesome.
Really I just found it amusing that the same voice actress voiced two different Lyras across two different shows. Lyra isn't an especially common name but it is my favourite name ever. If we're being honest and serious here, I'd name my daughter Lyra. Really. It's such a beautiful name to me.
You want more confermation, i recently got the whole series of Pokemon Chronicles and, in one episode, Misty actually mentions traveling with Ash in years. Years, people, and yet Ash is still ten!
