    Chapter 56 Promo!

In an isolated, abnormally large, hollowed-out tree might not be the typical abode for megalomaniacal n'ere-do-wells. Though, there was a reason both of them had opted for current accommodations over the typical kingdoms and castles, in one form or another. The area was absolutely inundated with dark magic. From the eerie glow that some of the plants gave off, to traces of black aerenth crystals

Kaiju Profile: Enjin · 10:55pm Mar 14th, 2016

"......"

Title: The Aspect of Land
Alias: Primate Aspect, the Warden
Age: >4.5 billion
Gender: No biological sex, used male pronouns sometimes
Stats:
Species: Primordial entity, resembles a primate with spiny features
Coloration: Black skins and fur, blood red lines and markings resembling magma filled runes, amber-orange hued core embedded inside the chest, glowing patches on snout similar to a male mandrill's. The "Shadow Enjin" has a mask-like covering on its face.
Height: 100 meters (50 meters presently)
Weight: 78,000 tons (19,500 tons presently) [Base Form], 58,000 tons (14,500 tons presently) [Speed Form],

Morality: The original Enjin was the calmest and gentlest of the three Aspects, despite being physically the most powerful. Much like the modern gorillas that coincidentally resemble it, Enjin was a pacifist unless necessary. It would only kill if it was absolutely needed to stop something, but the radiovore kaiju's disregard for the environmental destruction and extinctions they were causing in their in-fighting could wear on his nerves.
Presently however there is none. While cunning and very intelligent, the present day "Enjin" is only a copy of the original made of dark magic and isn't sentient, and could be likened more to a very resourceful machine than a conscious being.
Traits: Body armor and spines throughout body, sharp tusk-like fangs, extendable spines on knuckles, lack of pain, doesn't need to eat, drink, or sleep, extendable tendrils on chest, can sense beings over great distances based off their energies, highly dexterous form good for grappling, striking, and wrestling.

Powers:

Mending - All injuries dealt to Enjin's body can be patched fairly quickly. This includes broken joints, severed spinal cords, even a cracked skull. Once an injury is patched, Enjin's body adapts so it will be far more resistant to that particular kind of injury. This makes it very hard to gravely wound it the same way twice.

Earth Tremor Control and Creation - As the Aspect of Land, Enjin can sense and control vibrations going through the ground. This ability can range from having a seismic awareness of anything touching the ground over vast distances, to causing earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

Mana Grenade/Hammer - Drawing out energy from both the ground it stands on and its core, Enjin encapsulates a sphere of energy in its palm. This glowing orb of compressed energy can be either thrown or held onto and punched into a foe with explosive results.

Aspect Eruption - In a similar style to the mana hammer, Enjin draws up energy but instead condenses it in its chest tendrils to fire out in the form of an incredibly powerful beam attack.

Fear Roar - Enjin's roar isn't just incredibly loud, but can be used as a mental attack to cause dread, fear, anguish, or mental pain to anyone it intends to hurt with it.

Untamperable Mind - Enjin is completely immune to mind control, mental attacks, and forced suggestion; regardless of if the source is magical, demonic, or scientific in origin.

Limited Shape shifting - Enjin can adjust its body masses' proportions and bulk, allowing it to shed its excess mass and armor to enter a quicker, speedier form more akin to a baboon or mandrill than a gorilla. It can also change back and forth between forms freely, though this does take a moment and each form has some short coming. The bulkier form is slightly slower and an extremely agile foe might be able to outflank it for awhile, while its speed form isn't as heavily armored and trades away a portion of its strength. Still, the bulkier form is swift enough to keep up with most kaiju and the speed form's reduced strength is still on par with higher tier kaiju like Raiga or Monster X.

Enormous Physical Strength - Like great apes, Enjin is incredibly strong even for its size. As stated above its speed form is already on par with and even exceeds many kaiju, but the large form is easily three times stronger. During the Permian, Enjin could easily tussle with and toss around the massive Gojirans and MUTOs, and would be able to kill many types of kaiju or mechs just by beating them to death.

Terran Magic (Original Only) - As one of the three components of Reijuu, Enjin is the creator of many types of ancient magic. It used this to help promote the growth of early terrestrial life forms and cushion the blow of mass extinction events. Just walking through a barren landscape helped spur the growth of early plants and fungi, carpeting the area in greenery.

Weakness: - The original had no actual weaknesses as much as it is a few small short comings. The adaptive healing factor only adapts to grievous injuries, whereas otherwise non-mortal wounds would just be healed back without change. In theory, if hit with a quick enough succession of different blows from different types of attacks, it could take a moment to adapt to them. But this is assuming Enjin was just standing there and letting itself get wailed on. As the Aspect of Land, Enjin obviously cannot fly and is too dense to swim so it would sink and have to walk on the bottom when in deep water.

The "Shadow Enjin" has its existence tethered to Bagan, meaning if they are not in the same realm of existence, its form might become unstable over time. It also can't ________________________ and will _______________ if _________.

History: As one of the first beings in the Sol System, Enjin was present alongside the other two Aspects, Doragon and Mizu, when Terra was forming and they were given their task. Working with Mizu to create and divide between land and sea as Doragon managed the sky; the three worked together to prepare the planet for life. Once life started, the three were careful in helping protect and nourish it, balancing care with providing just enough extinctions to occur to help promote hardier and more advanced life to form over the eons. This upkeep was done despite near constant interruption by forces from outside the system, both alien and demonic in origin. Fiercely protective of Terra and desiring its life to continue without malign interference, Enjin slew any demons or archdemons that got past Doragon's patrols of the Thermosphere and made landfall, while Mizu handled the pests that tried to settle in the oceanic abyss.

Eventually life on Terra flourished and animals grew larger and more advanced. First into megafauna, and then into radiovore gigafauna. However, as the number of radiovore kaiju grew, the destruction of other species began to skyrocket by the time of the late Permian. Now faced with a literal planet full of kaiju, the three Aspects knew they couldn't solve the problem separately in time. So they pooled their power and physical forms, becoming something far stronger than any of the three were separately. Reijuu. Once the deed was done by the dawn of the Triassic, the combine conscious of the Aspects reforged most of Terra's mass radiation into a more stable form and created the mana stream; a flow of mana from the planet's core and across its surface in all three of the elemental domains and bringing magic to the world.

In the modern day, Enjin is still a physical component of Reijuu body. However it is within the chimera's ability to use magic and make a copy of the original Aspects to fight and function separately than itself, just about as powerful as the real thing over all while only lacking in magical ability and a few shortcomings. With the Mothra and Battra lines arising as Reijuu's helpers, there never was a need to use this ability. Least until now.

Wow. I really like your story about how Enjin and the other Aspects created the planet and his description about his abilities make him impressive. I was also pleasantly shocked that Enjin and his "siblings" came first and then merged into Reijuu rather than Reijuu being the first life form, but dividing himself into three beings. Still, I do feel curious about that line of the present Enjin being a copy of the original. Does that mean that all the other Aspects of Bagan are copies of Reijuu's Aspects and are they stronger/weaker than them? Anyway, I wonder if whatever traumatic event turned Reijuu into Bagan resulted in the three original Aspects dying and being replaced by corrupted versions. Thanks for expanding on Enjin's story.

3808157 And my thanks for an excellent comment. I'll put some elaboration into the bio but to restate it here, the original Enjin is still a physical component of Reijuu/Bagan's body and mind, permanently fused together with Doragon and Mizu. At this point they are entirely one being, just like how different limbs together make up a complete body. The Enjin the sirens and X are fighting right now is a duplicate of the original made of dark magic, and is just as physically powerful, durable, and capable of the same energy attacks as the real thing. For all intensive purposes, a clone made of solid dark mana. The only thing that makes it slightly weaker is the fact its existence is tied to its connection to Reijuu/Bagan, a.k.a its real body.

Not a bad bio. Good job!

Woah... so Enjin, Mizu, and Doragon weren't just guardians of Earth, but were essentially responsible for the formation of life on the planet? Man, that puts things in perspective even more than saying that Bagan is Kaijuthulhu. In every definition that matters, Reijuu/Bagan is a god. And now Bagan wants to kill us all. :twilightoops:

Woohoohoo. That does sound something wild.

3808207 When he said "I am a god.", he wasn't lying :rainbowlaugh:
The Aspects might not have created life on the planet, just maintained the conditions for it to go on, grow, adapt, and flourish unintruded by outside forces, but if you view it that way they are indirectly responsible for all modern life on Terra. It was Reijuu who forged the mana stream so they are also directly responsible for bringing magic to the planet. And they did all this while constantly fending off encroaching invaders like archdemons and ancient aliens trying to move in.

And now that chimera of the three oldest being in the Sol System, far older than any kaiju we've ever seen*, are trying to kill everyone.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

*I'd guestimate King Ghidorah, at 2nd oldest, to be around 80 million years old. That makes Enjin at minimum, 56x older.

I know I may be stretching things here a bit, but am I correct in thinking that if Enjin was in deep water and unable to touch the bottom, he would be far weaker and easier to beat? And that maybe, the same would be true if he stood on a glacier or some other barrier between him and the ground?

After all, both of his energy attacks require he draw power from the ground.

3808276
Worse yet, nobody except Harmony knows just how much of a ticking time bomb the situation is currently, and she can't contact anyone! >_<

Let's hope that the Nightmare sends Rarity a few more visions of the three-horned beast, and that Anguirus finally puts it all together...

3808312 It can still draw energy from its core, so it's far from helpless even if it isn't touching the ground. Main reason we see the Shadow Enjin using the ground so much in-chapter is it's been in an entirely different dimension than Bagan for days, so it's becoming unstable. Had Bagan been in the EG realm too or this been the original Enjin, this wouldn't be a factor. Thought to address your scenario, yes ice doesn't count as "ground". And even with this, its still plenty capable of just physically man-handling a lot of kaiju. So for the copy Enjin this is less a weakness and more a small shortcoming that makes it a bit harder to function.

Think of it less like a weakness for one of the Aspect Copies to be out of their respective element, and more you depriving them of an advantage. Still at base, without an advantage, any of these three are magnitudes stronger than a vast majority of modern kaiju.

KEEEEEWWWWWL!!! I'm very curious to know what Enjin's weakness is. Also, didn't Enjin bleed in the latest chapter? Sorry if that sounded random, I forget things.

If he did, then there's this quote:

The "Shadow Enjin" has its existence tethered to Bagan, meaning if they are not in the same realm of existence, its form might become unstable over time. It also can't ________________________ and will _______________ if _________.

Hahaha!

This whole thing has been enlightening.

You know, reading this...makes me feel a bit sad for the three original beings that became Bagan.

They fused into Bagan to save the planet and dedicated themselves to it's protection, only for Bagan to turn into a walking Extincition event.

That's rather tragic.

3808493 That is the tragedy. The one power the Aspects and later Reijuu never had was to see their own future. Looking back into its past, Bagan sees Reijuu as incompetent, naive, and dangerously misguided. Reijuu, if it had the ability to see into its future, would have seen Bagan's actions with utter horror, misery, and despair strong enough to hurt a deity.

3808506 That makes me think of Demona from Gargoyles when she ran into her past self due to time travel from before she was evil. Future Demona sees her past self as naive to how evil humans are and gets frustrated with her while past Demona is horrified by her future self, but due to the nature of the time travel, it just isn't possible for this to change in any way.

Or Danny Phantom the Ultimate Enemy when Danny runs into his evil future self...

Man, now I'd actually like to see someone write those situations for Bagan/Reijuu...

3808276

*I'd guestimate King Ghidorah, at 2nd oldest, to be around 80 million years old. That makes Enjin at minimum, 56x older.

[My headcanon launches to his feet, wide eyed with rage and knocks his chair to the floor. I brace my arm across his chest to keep him in place, and tell him: "It's alright, that's someone else's headcanon, it's got nothing to do with you. You're good you're good. Calm down."]

Ahhhhh..... Now I can start to get behind the 'ole boss ball. Before I thought he was just being overpowered, NOW, now I see that he (via the Aspects) is a being of primordial power, derived from elemental forces. That pill is a lot easier to swallow.

And I'm guessing that there's a good chance that we'll be seeing Do-rag-on and My-zu eventually.

3808594

*pats you on the head* Caaaaalm dooooooown buddy XD

Only reason I put Ghidorah's age at around there is because remember I'm using Rebirth of Mothra canon and in the third film, they state the being that grew up into Grand King Ghidorah was only a youngster around the late Cretaceous period around 65mya. So I actually stretched his age out by adding on another 15 million.

Glad to see I'm starting to win you over with the Aspects and Bagan. I did do my own thing here with making them as old as they were (though to be fair, the Bagan vs. Mothra and Return of Godzilla scripts never clarified how old Bagan was), so I went with the old "Well, its Eldritch, best make it as old as I can" card.

So, the aspects of land, water and air have been alive for quite a bit of their universe's history up until they merged into Reijuu, who eventually turned into the darkness we know now, but were there other entities who had domonion over where Terra is before they did? It's definitely an interestingly awesome backstory on Enjin, and I can't wait to delve into what's gonna come next.

3808607

Once you mentioned that age, I figured that's what you did. Plus I knew you're working off of the Heisei continuity.

I'm reminded of a short fic I read, "Godzilla vs. Cthulhu",(by C.L. Werner no less) where the Lovecraftian horror clearly outmatched him. It was disappointing to see Godzilla face someone he really couldn't fight, but I had no problem with it 'cause it was perfectly justifiable. Which I suppose is the root of my issue with Bagan, all "phenomenal cosmic power", with nothing to justify it. But now that you are fulfilling that necessity, now I can start to get a handle on him.

3808684 Kong would not survive facing him.

3808691
Enjin to Kong

And thus the Behemoth of Land now has reared his head...But now we wait for the Leviathan of Sea and Ziz of Heavens to appear...

3808684

WHAT! WHAT! WHAT!

Alright...... alright.....

He looks pretty cool.

3808684 Not a bad image. And right now, I am busy with a fic of my own and no it does not deal with your fic.

So this is what terrible beasty looks like. Very nice, and very intimidating, too. I can see why anyone else would be freaked out by this thing.:)

Love the design of Einjin. The backstory was quite enlightening, especially the revelation that the aspects had to deal with more than just the radiovores and stopping meteors prior to them merging to become Reijuu

Enjin looks COOl.

We've seen Enjin and Mizu in action, and that just leaves Doragon. If this isn't too much of a spoiler, I was wondering how Doragon's modus operadi differs from the other aspects? Enjin here just constantly pursues his targets and beats them down. Mizu, by contrast, is a planner and recruits the natives. What would Doragon do if Bagan sent him out? Sorry if that's too big a spoiler!
