Review Roundup: February 29th - March 11th · 10:32pm Mar 13th, 2016

Remember to get your March Madness brackets in this week! Well, do it right now if you're in one of those moronic "you have to pick the play-in games, too" pools, but regardless, this is the week to pretend you've watched a single college basketball game all year! This is the week to nod sagely when someone mentions "RPI" and act like you know what it stands for! This is the week to pretend you aren't just picking teams based on whose mascot is prettiest!

I already checked, by the way; there are no ponies, pastel or otherwise, in the tournament this year. Oh well.

With that PSA out of the way, head below the break for my bi-weekly breakdown of the reviewing going on at One Man's Pony Ramblings:

Monday, February 29, 2016: Mini-Reviews Round 123

Short reviews of Why Don't You Tell Them?, by Titanium Dragon; Upon the Black Beach of the Styx, by Smoker; and Thunderstorm and the Four Winds, by Carabas.

Wednesday, March 2, 2016: Who Doesn't Love a Top-Five List?

My proposed starter list of things which, while relatively minor issues in and of themselves, nevertheless pull me right out of any story I'm reading; in other words, "don't do these, please!"

Friday, March 4, 2016: Fandom Classics Part 153: Twice as Bright

My review of Cloudy Skies' Pinkie x Celestia shipfic. And if that sounds as... questionable to you as it did to me? Well, let's just say that you might want to check out this review.

Monday, March 7, 2016: Mini-Reviews Round 124

Short reviews of Sweet Desires, by David Silver; and Lilies of the Field, by Hap.

Wednesday, March 9, 2016: Fandom Classics Part 154: Rarity Loses Her Innocence In a Poker Game

My review of Mr.Numbers' tale of... well, of Rarity losing (a chit exchangeable for) her innocence in a poker game.

Friday, March 11, 2016: Reviewing: What's Good vs. What You Like (Part 1 of 2)

The first of a two-part series (what, you didn't get that from the title?) discussing both the importance and practice of separating personal interests and actual quality when reviewing. Depending on whether or not these FiMFic roundups are the only time you visit my blog, part two will either come tomorrow, or in two weeks.
