Could I get some opinions? · 12:31pm Mar 6th, 2016
So, I've actually got about ten thousand words down of a new story I'm writing called "Bloodwood".
There are no canon characters in it, and it is a thriller/suspense/horror based around a group of loggers sent out into the Everfree forest. It's multi-chaptered. I'm not sure how long it will be yet, though the exposition itself took about 9k and I'm just starting to get into the real story.
Would this be something any of you would be interested in? I think I've spurred myself back in to writing here, but I am legitimately worried that if I post it, I'm going to get next to no attention on the story. I posted "Stronger" a while ago, and it's only gotten about 130 views and 26 likes. I know I suffer sounding a little entitled here, but with someone with as many followers as me, that number is slightly pathetic. As authors, we write to share. For me, creating something that others would enjoy is incredibly motivating.
I'm rambling here.
Horror story about loggers in the woods and spooky mystery stuff.
How's it sound?
Sounds pretty good to me. Horror and woods are a great combo.
3793947 Yeah, they really are. Though I am specifically avoiding the B-movie hack-em slasher path. I'm moreso shooting for something more supernaturally sinister.
That does sound indeed interesting, I love anthing to do with the horror genre...the more supernaturally horrific it is the better in my book. I am indeed bored with the old traditional mad psycho that is related to one of the people lost in a mask with a blade or a drill etc.
You have my upvote and my interest.

I'm all up for a thriller/horror read. It's worth the time seeing as how it will be unlike all the other "murder murder deathstab" horrors that I get stuck reading. Let's just hope that the FP won't be too distracting with bad reads and that other people are up for checking out some supernatural.
I'm personally not really a horror fan myself , but it does sound interesting, and I'm only one person. I say go for it.
3793969 Thanks. And my god your user icon is ridiculously adorable.
3793981 I'm tempted to give previews, I really am, but I'm content with showing friends for now.
I could go for some spooky mysteries. Seems like it could be fun .
I'd also like for you to accept my generous gifts on steam. :^)
3794208 If you send me bad rats again I will personally track you down and do unspeakable things to you.
3794211 Now that sounds like a party!
And I mean, you declined "stellar 2-D" as well...
I swear I'll have a real game to send you eventually.
I need a good woods mystery after Firewatch. Do it.
Besides, OCs are okay if you remember to not deviate from the setting. Might as well use their perspectives to world-build a little, yeah? Yeah. That's what I'd do if I could make non-joke OCs.
3794321 Firewatch was the best game I have played in a long time.
The letdown at the end was absolutely amazing, considering it hammers home the point of isolation and its effect on the mind.
Im always for the creeps. As long as its done well and its not just A ghost did it
Always been a good fan of horror. I'd read, specially as you're writing again.
3795641 Thanks man.
Anyways, I put down another 1k today, and considering I've been out of writing for... a good long while, that's progress
