Stuff and thoughts and stuff · 6:00am Mar 5th, 2016
I have pictures I keep meaning to share, but I'm too lazy to upload them. Yesterday there was a cool rainbow outside my house. I also scored a couple of MLP toys from McDonald's. There are 8, right? I think I have half already. (One was Fluttershy! Hooray!)
I've spent a lot of time writing What They Expect to Give today, so I think I'll take a break and just fool around till I sleep. Current word count is 3,400 words. Not bad, considering it's been...what? Just two days? Mind you, last chapter I had to cut out huge chunks and re-write others. Since I'm straying from my original outline, the chance of things being removed is high. I'd take the word count with a grain of salt.
I guess I'll watch a horror movie or something. I'm always watching dark stuff. Most of my life, I never really considered myself a dark person, but the last few years forced me to reevaluate that view. My top ten movies are mostly dark in nature (Fight Club, American Psycho, and Full Metal Jacket are the interchangeable top 3) and a lot of my writing has a kind of heaviness to it. What They Expect to Give is probably the most lighthearted thing I've ever written. It feels very nice, but I keep having to resist throwing in some horrible Lovecraftian monster for Rainbow Dash and Sunset Shimmer to eviscerate. It just makes me wonder if I need to start a dark/gore story to feel more in my element.
