The Wandering Bard

"I am a singer, a poet, a musician, a storyteller. I am a bard at heart. That is who I am. That is what I shall always be." (Icon by atokota on FurAffinity)

While visiting her hometown, a small filly approaches Lyric with a question. Unicorns have their magic and pegasi can fly, but is there anything that makes earth ponies special? Fortunately, Lyric just may have the answer.

    Some OC Questions

Hey, all! This is a meme by gilgamemesh I've seen around Tumblr, and since I haven't gotten any asks about it there, I thought I'd post it here! Here's how it works: pick a number or multiple numbers from the list, post it/them in the comments, and in about a week or so (depending on how many asks I get), I'll post a follow-up blog about it! And if two people ask about the same number, that's

Lyric and my/her Stories · 2:08am Mar 4th, 2016

Greetings, everyone!

As many of you know by now, I released my latest story The Earth Ponies' Specialty on the first of March, although I cannot take credit for this particular idea. That goes to my very special somepony. However, I did take what he gave me to write this story, and with the help of my somepony and my friends Reneigh Haycart and Emylia Hawke, the story was edited and made into something grand. Now, for a story released only two days ago and consisting of all OCs, it has done what I would consider very well. It has had around 100 views and has gotten positive feedback. And it makes me wonder: are more people reading what I have to offer? Or are readers actively searching for or wanting more stories that showcase earth ponies and their talents in a new light? Whatever the reason, I am very grateful for those who have read, upvoted, shelved, favorited and/or commented on the tale. And thank you as well to my new followers!

Now, on top of this and at the risk of sounding self-serving, there is another thing I have wondered, and it has been in the back of my mind for a long time. For anyone who has read my stories, and for anyone who has become a fan, what was it about Lyric and/or my/her stories that first caught your attention? Or if it was The Bird... or the Cage? that you found first, what was it about the story that caught your interest? If you feel like answering, I'd be quite curious to know. After all, I've heard time and again that stories with OCs, OCs themselves and crossovers typically do not do well on this site, yet time and again you have all shown me otherwise. And I cannot thank you all enough.

Cheers!

No, thank you for putting out so much often stuff, we're happy to like what we think is good, I think that's a fair explanation for why your stuff is so popular Lyric:twilightsmile: keep being awesome.

Thanks, bestie. That really means a lot to hear. After all, I definitely know I have room for improvement and have certainly evolved as a storyteller since I first started sending Lyric on her adventures. But that's what this is all about. The joy and the journey.

3790254
And sometimes, the joy is in the journey itself.

3790257
Truer words could not have been said.

3790258
Well technically the statement, "I am typing a message to my friend on the internet" would have also been a true, applicable statement.

3790263
:rainbowlaugh: Of course, but you know what I mean.

Well then mate, here's my story.

A while ago I got bored and decided to check Fimfic for something interesting to read. And after about searching for an hour or so, I found your story; Guardian Halo.

And ever since then I have fallen in love with that story and quite a few of your other ones. What can I say, your a talented author mate.

Cheers!

3790267
Of course i do, I'm Batman:trollestia: i know everything

3790273
Thank you, my friend! And thank you for sharing! It's just amazing that one site, and perhaps even one story, can bring so many people together.

3790278
Shhhhh! Now they'll all know your secret identity! :twilightoops:

3790282 And that's the wonder of Humanity.

3790286
It is. There really has to be something said for stories, or for any artistic endeavor, really. For they all help us connect to ourselves and to each other.

3790284
JK, or AM I?:trollestia: JK I'm not Batman, or AM I?:trollestia:

3790294 Agreed. You know, its times like these that make me glad to be alive!

3790299
Same here, mate! Same here! With all the crazy going on in the world today, being here, chatting with those I call friends, being with my very special somepony, it's all a safe haven. It's magic.

3790302 Well now magic I disagree with. But the rest, I'm all for mate, being with the good side of Humanity really helps the soul sometimes.

3790326
And the same goes for you, Emylia! You've written Misty and the gang phenomenally well, and I love seeing what you do with them!

3790341
You are most welcome. But really, it's a bit odd to be in the spotlight. :twilightsheepish:

3790348
That is not cheesy at all! I have done the same with some of my friends on here!

You've made such great stories I'm not surprised at all it's like this
