I ain't afraid of no lazy rehash! · 8:11pm Mar 3rd, 2016

...Eh.

I think that sums it up. Eh.

Two brilliant but 'eccentric' ones, the goof-ball with social skills, and the afro-american Joe Jane Average with a sense of humor.

Playing it a bit safe after that shocking twist of nobody in the main cast having an y-chromosome, I see. Yeah, that is clearly enough for them to count as new characters. :ajbemused:

Still... the bad sign of how the movie seems confused if it's a reboot or a sequel and the above lazyness aside, this actually seemed rather decent.

Will probably still wait for the reviews (and that does break my heart a bit all on its lonesome), but I'll grant that this trailer at least didn't make me try to kill Hollywood execs with mind-bullets over the net.

The wild gear and freaky, awesome ghosts reminded me of the comics and extended universe in a really good way, though. I will freely admit that much, so here's hoping it's 'just' an incompetent PR firm.

As a relatively young sprog, whom has never seen the first ghostbusters movie (seen the second one, you may now gasp in horror) this seems like it'll be a fun ride.

Child of the (late) eighties myself, but I'd highly recommend both the old movies.

Honestly not sure what peoples grief is with the second one. Personally I've always thought it was at least as good as the first one if not outright better.

I mean, a man so vile, evil and yet great enough that one measly painting was enough for him to linger to try forcefully reincarnate himself to take over the world a second time? That's kinda hard-core even by movie standards. :rainbowderp:

The thing about it is the same thing about Final Fantasy VII, Blade Runner (and "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep"), Cowboy Bebop, and Dark Souls.

Everyone spent so much time pushing, pushing, and pushing me to watch/play/read, how awesome and thrilling and how "they'll change your world view" that when I actually sat down to watch/play/read, I didn't get this all encompassing emotional story that swept me of my feet. I got something that was "It's alright, don't see what the fuss is" then (because my old friends were jerks) I got shouted at for not liking what they liked and told "You don't get it", so I've mostly become jaded towards people telling me what to watch, and Ghostbusters got swept up in that wave (alongside Blues Brothers, Starship Troopers, Christine, and several other classics). I did watch the 90's cartoons though, those were good fun.

Can understand that.

Had the same reaction to The Shining myself.

Heard for years and years how it was the scariest thing ever, and when I finally got around to watch the darn thing it just bored me half to death. Not that it's bad, mind you, but I simply cannot see why people consider it such a masterpiece. :unsuresweetie:
