...poor old Luna, written out again; the mare just can't catch a break. Still, if it's half as good as the photo appears to be, I'll be getting the NMM.

She might get one later on. These are just the first wave toys.

3775440 Very true.

Still, it is rather odd for them to do it this way, given the fact that Hasbro knows that Luna is Celelstia's sister, not NMM.

3775462 It does make sense, ESPECIALLY for Hasbro of all companies to do this. They are pretty much making Pony action figures, and one of the things they learned long ago that helped lead to all their hits in the 80's, was that the heroes you are trying to get kids to buy, need enemies to fight agsint.

It's all about the Bucks. I actually can see them deciding that NMM was such a good foe that the Elements of Harmony did not destroy her, but just split her away from Luna so she could have her own toy line. I actually ran a GURPS Supers series of sessions that way, where everybody had merchandising tie-ins, and excess violence and property damage would cause dips in their income and fame. You had to do something really heroic to get a toy contract, and could lose it in a minute if you did something dumb.

"Yes, that's Major Minor, the Musical Hero. It's really sad. He's got a whole warehouse full of action figures left over from when he accidentally punched that nun live on TV."

Chrysalis looks more like an action figure than Celestia or Nightmare. Celestia looks particularly immobile given her pose and styling. :fluttershysad:

3775585 Yeah the Celestia and NMM figures are actually part of another set they are putting out, not the "Guardians" brand.

Perhaps, but there is no longer any room for her -- what's she going to do, timeshare the moon?

Funny thing is, I always imagined that 'old school' Luna looked like that, and her current body was just a result of the Element's hatchet job.

They look like pure figurines -- it's really hard to see what's going on with C; seems very awkward.

3776439 I wouldn't say 'hatchet job' but no, what she looks like now is what she always did, her season 1 look was due to her being depowered a bit, either from NMM and/or the Elements.

But yeah, hopefully these things sell incredibly well and we get more of them.
