Hey you beautiful people. Well, it's Sunday again, so that means another update for What They Expect to Give. This is my favorite chapter so far!

For those of you who have already been following along, you might have noticed that I added an AU tag to the story. This does NOT mean that I'm changing the story in any way. It's still going to be what it was, and what I always intended it to be. It's just that that I've received some feedback from various sources that have alerted me to the fact that some might have issues with the few creative liberties I've taken with the EqG canon. I've certainly noticed a stricter adherence to canon in this fandom than others, so I figured it would only benefit my story to warn new readers of the tweaks ahead of time.
The justifications for the AU tag is in the story's long description. The two major ones is that the characters have normal skin colors (though their hair and eyes are still colorful), and there will be tweaks to certain canon events in an attempt to better rationalize them. Equestrian magic and pony-ups also function under a stricter logic. In hindsight, some of this seems an obvious shoo-in for the AU tag, but when I first started the story, I was operating under old fanfic standards from other fandoms--namely that moderately tweaking canon, especially in the pursuit of rationalization, was almost a given, and therefor didn't necessitate the use of an AU tag. But every community is different, and I'm still relatively new to the MLP fanfic scene, so...all I can say is: I'm catching up!
I also added new character tags to better reflect the breadth of the story as a whole. As this is a FlutterDash fic, Rainbow and Flutters play a central role in the plot, but the other girls will be very involved in how things progress.
Chapter 8 is in the works. I'm actually bumping a chapter up from the ones already completed, and removing another for possible use later. Trying to edit it so that it fits into the new timeline. I've probably procrastinated on that a little bit, but I'll get to it first thing tomorrow!
