Where's the Fair Use? · 1:26pm Feb 17th, 2016
Now I haven't done anything on YouTube really, just a trailer and some animations, but even at such a small thing I have been subject to YouTube's automatic copyright claims and even took down a video to avoid the issues that comes with it. Nonetheless, it still makes no sense that Google and YouTube just allow for the damaging abuse that people use the system for and it's hurting channels and video businesses both small and large. We're living in a world where soon it won't just be videos, songs, games or criticisms that will be on the chopping block, but eventually fan art in all forms (even us in the little corner of FiMFiction could eventually be under the radar of scrutiny, despite the sites efforts to prevent that from occurring). So spread the word, start getting involved with the content creators that are fighting against the broken system before the system starts to spread and get out of control. Don't be afraid to ask "Where's the Fair Use?"
