Story Idea I may never write

I love to read the stories but am very bad about writing them. Here is a basic idea I came up with. If anyone reads this and likes the concept, have a go. Just let me know so I can read how your interpretation turns out.

Sounds of Silence

During her test to hatch the dragon egg, Twilight is startled by a loud explosion. Her magic wreaked havoc on the testing room. The egg hatched into a 60ft tall ‘baby’ dragon, the instructors were suspended in a telekinetic field, and her parents were turned into potted plants. The sheer power coursing through young Twilight Sparkle’s body was amazing, and agonizing. Her still developing filly form couldn’t contain the power and it bled out of every pore. Twilight screamed for a painful eternity before the pain ended and her eyes cleared. There before her was Princess Celestia herself.
“Twilight Sparkle. [Insert line from show]” Twilight opened her mouth to squeal with joy, but nothing came out. Instead she ended up clutching her throat in pain.

Twilight has lost her ability to speak. Eventually this causes her to calm down and plan better internally. She becomes even more introverted, but doesn’t panic as easily. After several years of study she has created a spell that will talk for her, speaking words as she thinks them. This eases communication with those she is close to, but as she cannot seem to match moving her mouth to the spell exactly it ‘freaks’ others out.
