    Still working on Midnight Rising...

At the rate of about 800-1000 words a day. That’s my key to getting stuff done that you’re causing you issues; just be sure you put at least a little time in on it this day to have some forward momentum. The two chapters are now up to 24,100 words. I’ll work on it more this weekend, at least around continuing work around the maps and battle graphics I’m making for Feathered Hearts.

Did two things this past weekend...

First, I ran 10k for the first time in two months after laying off that long to let my ankle bursitis subside, trying to allow the area to generally heal up. It appears that it worked. To my delight, there was no ankle pain after and I hadn’t even lost much stamina thanks to hitting an elliptical machine twice a week for an hour instead of jogging. My upper legs are another matter, though.

C&C chapter 40 entering prereads tonight + teaser

Much as I didn’t want to, I made the decision to break it up since the full length of the War Council meeting had exceeded 20,000 words and will probably approach 25k for the now-two chapters before all is said and done. The breakpoint itself will be between learning about the general war situation both Aricia and the Griffon Kingdom face, and then discussing what in all the Crows they’re going

Midnight Rising/C&C update: April showers may bring May flowers...

But of more interest is the emergence of 17-year cicadas in my area. Big, ugly, red-eyed insects that are the size of your thumb but basically harmless, as long as you can get past all the shed skins they leave behind on leaves and the everpresent and disconcertly loud background sound they produce as a mating call. Fortunately, the outbreak in my area seems pretty limited. There's a few around,

Midnight Rising update; Feathered Hearts C&C teaser...

Hey, folks. Here’s my weekly writing update. I’m tagging this as C&C since that’s what the teaser below is about, but the blog is about both it and Unleash the Magic - Midnight Rising.

Shoutout to TheGoldCrow! · 10:33pm Feb 12th, 2016

I already did this in the most recent Rise of Firefly chapter, but I'd like to do so here as well:

I recently got a very unexpected but very welcome shout-out from The Voice™ himself, TheGoldCrow, VA of Phoenix Wright in Turnabout Storm. He did so in a recent youtube video (around the 3:40 mark) after I gave him running commentary on his Kid Icarus Uprising playthru narration. So I'd like to say publicly how flattered and honored I am, and give him this shout-out in return. You are invited to check out his channel and in particular his KI:U walkthru series, which I can heartily recommend:

They're a lot of fun just to watch and listen. You’re further invited to check out his youtube channel, as well as the other fan-made case he’s been voicing Phoenix Wright in—Operation: Turnabout:

If you're interested in seeing a more conventional Ace Attorney case that features the likes of Maya, Scruffy, and Franny, give this one a look. It's quite well-done and nearing completion. It doesn't take place in Turnabout Storm canon, but does make a point to strongly reference it!

Kid Icarus Uprising was such a funny game.
"-Hello, Pitty Pat!
-HADES!
-PIT!
-HADES!
-PIT!
-HADES!
-PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!
-HAAAAAAAAAAAADES!"

Operation: Turnabout is wonderfully made! Great jokes, interesting characters — especially the drill sergeant! — and all the voice acting is top notch. I really hope they crank out the last chapter this year.

Oh yeah, I played Kid Icarus Uprising. It's got overrated humour, but the game plays just fine. Worth a shot.

The dialog was at time the best part of the game! They got some really good VAs and writers for it. I may get the game myself now.

You're telling me! And I think they nailed Maya in it. That's exactly what she's supposed to be--immature, endlessly upbeat and reveling in breaking the rules, but always devoted to Nick and his client, helping out in some surprising ways. And that part where's she's arguing passionately with the drill sergeant about the Nickel Samurai's love interest was hysterical. Of, course, that probably says more about him than her... :facehoof:

MAGGOTS!!!!!!! :flutterrage:

I found the gameplay fascinating, the way it worked. The again, I haven't played any 3DS games other than the Ace Attorney ones.

3753194 It isn't facinating really. Trust me, playing it for long stretches may give you hand cramps that might lead to carpel tunnel. If your IT work is punishing on your hands, DO NOT play Uprising. The game does try to get you to take breaks often, and you will need them.

But seriously. It's controls are VERY PUNISHING.

3753194 Also, I wouldn't say Maya is super immature, but compared to say...Trucy, she really is immature...

(Trucy's merely chipper. I think. Trucy is at the very least smart, and brave, too. Remember the hostage thing?)

Yeah. I love the game, though I never played it, either. I watched originally watched chuggaaconroy's let's play of it (And now I can't unsee the Viridi and Pit ship since they are so adorable together).
I've been watching GoldenCrow's version of it, and I like the fresh new perspective on it. I also love that retrospective intro he did in the video you linked. Makes me realize the similarities between Palutena/Medusa and Celestia/Nightmare Moon. And the laughed at the joke with the 8uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu password.
