A small request... · 7:54pm Feb 12th, 2016
Howdy folks! I hate to bug you about such a thing, but I'd urge anyone who hasn't yet checked out The Brief, Torrid Love-Affair of Fernando the Straw and Madame le Flour to please do so. And for those who have, thank you! Tell your friends!
The reason I'm reaching out is that I haven't managed to draw as much audience to it thus far as I think would enjoy it. Granted, it's probably a bit too weird-looking for the general population... and I get that.
Sometimes that's just how I roll. But it should also be said that a large percentage of people who read it have enjoyed it enough to upvote. So it's weird, but plausibly worthwhile!
Now look, I know I can't complain either way. I enjoyed the hell out of writing it, as well as working with Moose and PP to revise it. And every view it gets is awesome. But I'd still like to see this thing take off a little bit more before I call it done.
I posted a blog about it but I don't really have a lot of followers so I don't know how much that helps.
I can safely say I've linked folks to it. Granted my sphere of influence is incredibly limited. I will say this though, sometimes stories have a time delay on them. I've had a couple that for whatever reason were sitting in double digits for a really long time and then just folks started looking at them. I couldn't tell you why it happened but, it was kind of neat that it did!
That may very well happen with this story.

You are beautiful human beings, and only one response seems appropriate:
That story definitely needs to be seen. If I hadn't just put up a blogpost, I'd have gladly given you a shout-out. Well, I suppose I'll go back and edit it. However, I'm not really sure my doing so will do much good; you have over twice as many followers as I do. Hopefully, the favourite and upvote I gave you will influence whatever algorithm FimFic uses to gauge heat.
(yes, I did edit my blogpost to give you a shout-out, as well as this one to tell you I did so)
Having a story you're proud of, that you worked hard on, not get the recognition you feel it deserves is a feeling I understand all too well (it describes most of my work, really).
3751051 Thank you kindly.
Alas, the reality is that they're not all going to tear up the charts. I think it's important to balance the amount of time you spend on any given story, against how much you really want to write it, against what you think the response will be. Because it's definitely a bummer if you don't get any response at all.
Fortunately that's not the case here. I had a lot of fun writing it , and I think the people who are reading it are enjoying it.
You're correct in your assessment that this needs to be seen by more people.
As of such, I went ahead and plugged you in my blag.

No worries.
