Well Chapter 2 is already finished and the story hasn't even been officially posted yet.
Before I began writing chapter 2 I knew the action levels would drop, as would reader interest, to an extent. Going from a scene of mass carnage and death to a typical family scene is just asking for it, but I want the reader to understand a bit of how the main protagonist's mind works and what his motivations were before he came upon the land of Equestria. I hope this chapter sheds a light on that.
I kept the chapter short intentionally. Nobody wants to read about the real world, they want ponies and action!
Well, stick with the story. It's not meant to be all action and dread from beginning to end, though you will absolutely see some horrifying developments. What motivation would the protagonist have to risk his life saving these ponies if he doesn't even befriend them first? Stay tuned, you won't be disappointed.
