Where have I been. I could attempt some yarn about how I was circling the drain or something overly dramatic full of the type of pseudo symbolism that the going through puberty set thinks is edgy and dark. In reality it's a lot of navel gazing and thinking you understand something more than you actually do or being overly disappointed when things don't work out because of a lack of experience,

My Little Pony: A New Generation (2021)

There is or was a debate that carried on after the end of the series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic that centered around the leadership of Twilight Sparkle. This debate came up when the general plot of the movie I will be reviewing became public knowledge. The backstory of the movie is that somehow magic was lost, the three types of ponies were no longer able to get along and because of

    Lady in White (1988)

Maybe it's just me but, at a certain point one must consider their lunch or dinner choices before heading into traffic. You see, traffic is a cruel mistress. It slows up, bogs down and in pretty much any other way it can will make your life difficult. Add into it a sizeable Mexican meal and it becomes the slowest most arduous race against the devil to get home and not ruin your pants.

    Galaxy of Terror (1981)

Pony Tale Adventures has been put out to pasture at the C&D ranch. It was a bit disappointing. The art assets, sound, and general introductory scenario were charming (at least on the safe for work version). It's a shame that we will never see the title make it to fruition. That said the end result wasn't a complete surprise.

    Lake Mungo (2008)

So, where have I been. I mean honestly this has been the first time I've submitted anything since July of last year. The truth is I've really been absolutely nowhere. I've weaved my way through the many days avoiding angry crowds of one stripe or another. I've paid my bills mostly on time if not for the laziness of the local parcel services I'd be on time. I've worked at my job and one foot

National Lampoon's Senior Trip (1995) · 1:43am Jan 29th, 2016

Well, apparently Twilight Sparkle will be an aunt here fairly shortly. You know as one's extended family grows you kind of have to look back at your life and wonder about a few things. What sort of a relative will you be? Will the new niece or nephew have some of the interests that you had? While it's not as overt as those parental relations there are times when you can see traces of you in your extended family.

For the sake of Shining Armor and Cadence though let's hope that their daughter follows in the footsteps of the time when Twilight Sparkle was a studious bookworm unicorn instead of the sex pot who went to Washington D.C. as part of a group of students from Ohio who are going to speak about the state of the educational system. What, you thought she lived in Equestria all her life?

Senior Trip is one of those fairly typical by the numbers, fill in the blank (flank), comedies that popped up sometime in the mid 90s. Basically it's a bunch of high school seniors that fill a quota. They are all there. The black kid, the lesbian, the stoners (though that could be really all of them to some degree), the leader kid (played by Jeremy Renner in his first movie), the love interest, the sex pot (Tara Charendoff aka Tara Strong aka Twilight Sparkle), nerd, fat kid, you get the idea.

While serving detention for having a party at the principal's house, the love interest pens a letter to the President of the United States who then invites those students who were in detention to come to an education summit because he want's to know what the youth of America thinks. Shenanigans involving an evil senator, partying, sex and what not ensue. Eventually everything comes to an end. I hesitate to say that it works out for all of them.

What's notable about this movie more than anything is the cast. Like I said it has Jeremy Renner, Tara Strong, Matt Frewer, Tommy Chong, Kevin McDonald and a bunch of other folks who have had long careers in television and movies. It's just sort of odd that they're all here in this rather meh movie.

Probably the most notable moment in the movie is when Strong hits on Renner asking, "Wouldn't it be cool to screw in the principal's bedroom?" He turns her down of course for love interest girl but, for one moment we can say that Twilight Sparkle had eyes for Hawkeye and that's kind of worth a chuckle in itself.

The stats: 2 dead bodies (with another that could be dead I'm not entirely sure), 2 implied scenes of twin bed tango, Party Fu, Beer fu, Drug fu, 90s stoner fu, Gratuitous Matt Frewer in his underwear, One Kevin McDonald en flambe.

Notables:
Jeremy Renner as Mark "Dags" D'Agastino the leader kid who bangs the love interest and says, "So why don't you ditch the books and come to the back and party with us?"

Tara Strong as sex pot Carla Morgan for being good looking and saying things like, "Hey Virus, I bet you've never made moves like this in your chess club. Wanna screw?"

Matt Frewer as Principal Todd Moss when asked why they can't see Kennedy's eternal flame says, "You people don't deserve Kennedy!"

Tommy Chong as Red who basically does the Tommy Chong Schtick.

Anyway, it's pretty easy to find online if you're interested.
