Finally, I Can Give A Decent Update on Crimson · 6:40am Jan 24th, 2016
Hey Everyone!
For those of you following Through Crimson Eyes, I finally have some more good news for you. I know the last time I updated specifically about Crimson, it was to tell you that it finally had a full rough draft, and that was some pretty good news, too. However, I'm happy to report that along with his other priorities, my editor has been able to find time to work with me, so the editing process (from the beginning) has begun! We're already up to chapter 21, so our pace so far has been pretty fair. Hopefully this doesn't spoil anything, but there's what is basically equivalent to about 65–66 chapters in the story total. I know that number may sound intimidating, but the chapters are almost all less than 2,000 words, with a few exceptions, so after the full editing process, I'm expecting the story to be just over 100,000 words. Anyway, because I'm starting school again tomorrow, and my editor has higher priorities, we likely won't be able to work every day, so we're hoping that we should be done by the end of February (but as usual, no guarantees— I don't want there to be any unnecessary pressure on either of us).
I know that I have at least one new reader to the story pre-re-editing, so if you (or any other new readers) see this post, I do request that you hold off on reading any more of what's published until the already published chapters have been re-edited. My intention was to not even update those old chapters until everything was finished, but I think once chapter 36 has been re-edited, I will update all of the chapters that are already up so anyone that wants to start re-reading from the beginning sooner rather than later can see it in its new form (I'll make a blog post when that happens). After everything else is completed, I'll publish one or two chapters per day when I'm ready. You guys have been so patient waiting for me to finish this story, and I don't want to string you along for longer than necessary, but I would like to have as many separate updates as possible. More updates, higher likelihood of the story being seen in the update box, and more potential new readers.
That's all for now. I've got one more day before my classes start, so I need to be well-rested to get my stuff together.
Peace out, all!
