Advice For New Writers · 6:34am Jan 11th, 2016
Every writer has that feeling of wanting to make the story of their dreams. Or at least a story they know people would love. So you sit down, and start typing away the amazing title that will advertise your work with intriguing words. Then you write down the descriptions, and click on all of those pony photos at the end, finally hitting the save option. You bring yourself to your story's page, creating a chapter, and of course begin writing. This is of course is where you encounter the hardest obstacle you, and every writer in the world, experiences when writing: Starting. You will sit there at your laptop (Or pad a paper, but I sure hope that judging you can see this from your device, that you use your computer for your work.) and stare off blankly at your screen, waiting for something to happen. You distract yourself from working, like me going on agario to beat some noobish noobs, or refreshing the page til you get a notification. Either way, you procrastinate, not knowing how to start the tale of your adventure. This can last days, weeks, and even months! (I know, since it takes me several months to actually do s***.) Luckily Shia LaBeouf and I have the answer to solve and cure this horrible disease known as writer's block.
JUST DO IT!
This is most likely the only solution to solve such a horrible feeling. Trust me I know. It shouldn't take me two months just to write A PARAGRAPH on my PROLOGUE. But I digress. Just keep trying, writing, and you'll get the hang of it. Once you write out your introduction or starting, everything else runs as smooth as butter. (Or a riverbed stone. I forget the saying.) Heck the introduction doesn't even have to reach the 1,000 word minimum limit. Just make that thing that get's readers attracted to what product you have in store. As hard as it may be, at least trust my word that if you just write something out, no matter how short or long it is, that you'll be able to proceed with your work. Who knows. Maybe your starting could get you to write a story that goes into the feature box itself. I'll just tell you right now that there is no doubt in my mind that couldn't happen for you. You only need to just do it. Or just write it. (Yeah that seems fitting.)
Completely agree.
