I'm so confused. · 3:11am Jan 10th, 2016

I don't know what to think here. I hate Michael Bay movies, including TMNT 1. But this trailer looks awesome. Like we're actually going to get the Turtles movie we wanted. But its also Michael Bay, which is bad, isn't it? Oh god I don't know what to do.

I'm conflicted on it too honestly. But I am excited by the prospect of a movie that just looks...FUN.

3675918 We got Bebop and Rocksteady back, and I got to say, their CGI looks really good. They actually look like their 90's cartoon counter parts only more realistic and updated. IT looks like its going to be fun. But, like I said, this is a Michael Bay film. He may not be directing it but he's involved and that never ends well.

I guess all we can do is take it with a grain of salt and try no to get our hopes up.

true. Hype will often lead to disappointment. I mean, I'm excited for Persona 5 but I have a feeling i'll be disappointed. Not that it'll be bad, it'll still be amazing, but I know that whatever I have in my mind won't live up to the finished product.

It's the Watch Dogs issue all over again. The base game was...okay. But the hype was so big, well....

I could care less since TMNT 2003 was my Turtles and until i get a live action version of that Shredder i'll be happy (though the 80's movie comes close but till then

3675987 That's not fair and you know it. They can't make that Shredder live action. It would scare the ever loving crap out of the audience. That guy is the only Shredder I am absolutely terrified of.

3675993 But that's why he's so awesome...He's my favorite Shredder...I loved watching him as a Kid.....He B.A...His voice is amazing...not to mention that Theme Music....Kids needs to see Dark stuff anyway and back in the 80's all the best kid films were dark and scary...Plus not to mention the theme music (Also did you get my PM)

3675998 (Just responded.) NO doubt. He was awesome and I loved that show too. But it was the exception. It was the first time the Turtles were actually serious most of the time and it worked. Its very rare to make a good TMNT serious show, but they managed with this version. And they failed miserably in the last movie. So, its back to basics and silliness.

It is a little difficult to bring to life someone who literally almost destroyed the multiverse.

3676007 Well...You can make a serious live action Shredder. The 80's movie proved it. And ACTUALLY...The Turtles are based off a comic from the 80's that in the first arc KILLED their Shredder.

3676014 Ok 1) that was the goofiest Shredder ever. They have interviews where the actor as stated he just went nuts and made the character as over the top as possible for fun. Seriously, go back and watch him some time. Its hilarious.

2) The comics were meant to be a parody series, making fun of the violent comics of the time, like the Punisher and Dare Devil. This series was never meant to be taken seriously.

3676038 Huh...I never found the Shredder in the first film funny as i did just over the top. Though it worked for the context in that film. Maybe i'm confusing serious for smart....Cause ....well i hate making judgment calls i've never watched the 80's cartoon....I'll just say if the 80's cartoon was tilted towards kids then the 2003 series was aimed towards more the adults or older kids. And the 80's live action move the first one was aimed for Older kids while the sequel was aimed at younger kids...and 3rd film ...well we don't talk about that one.

Oh yeah what about the new Shredder from TMNT the new series he's pretty evil,

Granted Turtles has survived worse.

3676047 Well, it knida goes like this. The 80's cartoon was made simply for the toys. No way around that. Thats the truth. Each week they'd use the episode to show off some toy they wanted kids to buy. So, yeah, mostly for kids and no one else.

Then you have the 90's movies. Made for the kids that grew up with the cartoon and aimed at older teens. Fun, silly and good. Next you have the 2003 series. Several years had passed and the kids that watched the 80's cartoon and the movie are grown up, possible with kids of their own. So, they made a serious cartoon to appeal to kids of the time and the adult fans that remembered the old show.

And now we are back to the new show. And my god i love this one. At first I was a little worried because of the changes but boy did it turn out good. It mixes the silliness of the 80's with the seriousness of the 2003's series. Mikey almost always cracks me up when I watch the show.

The new Shredder may be the weakest part though. Not as silly as the old Shredder, and not nearly scary enough to match 2003's Shredder. He's just kind of there. Easily the best fighter of all the Shredders but weak in the character part.

3676083 Thats a pretty good description right their. Though i had not Nostalgia to turtles till the 2003 TMNT show, so now i have trouble relating to the other stuff cause it doesn't look like it. Much like i don't like a lot of DC stuff unless it reminds me of DC AU...Which is why i love the Arkham Games. (Also don't forget to respond to my PM in the morning.)
