    Time to start painting

Living room all furnished for the most part minus some end tables and a lamp or two, now I need to pick a color to paint the walls and get some art to hang about. Not sure what to put on the main wall of the room since it's so big.

Dog made a mess with paint EVERYWHERE

Got a desperate call from my sister while helping a family member build a deck. Her dog and Krono, my pup, had gotten into some oil paints for whatever reason. ASPCA Poison Control said nothing to worry about other than expected digestive discomfort for a bit. So since there is no danger, I can enjoy my dog being slightly green for the next month or so.

    Good day for a walk

Pretty dog, pretty park. Still not the most confident puppy while on a walk yet, but he'll get better.

Stories waiting in queue · 7:57am Dec 28th, 2015

So you've been waiting for however long for your story to be approved/failed and might be getting impatient with the staff. Maybe you've been waiting 5 minutes, 6 hours, or 2 days. There are a whole host of reasons why this may be, including but not limited to:

1. You never submitted the story.

2. You haven’t fixed the issues we already told you.

3. You’re at the back of the line after resubmitting your story the instant you were failed, hoping to get someone else to see your story the 2nd, 4th or final time around and ignore the remaining issues. We view stories in the order they're submitted

4. We're asleep. We try to cover multiple timezones, but it can't always work out.

5. It’s a holiday and we can’t be bothered to read another diaper fetish or Anon X Celestia clopfic during time we should be devoting to family/friends.

6. You wrote a story you knew would be borderline on multiple rules meaning more than one of us will have to come to an agreement on what to do with it.

7. You’re trying to be edgy or push the rules, so at least one or two more people have to look at the story to make sure it’s not a decision made to spite you for possibly wasting our time, instead actually looking at what little merit the story has and if it meets our minimum standards.

8. You’ve misread your story’s status and don’t realize it’s already approved, waiting to be posted from our automated post-queue. The status of your story will update to post-queue before the automated PM is sent.

9. We have families and friends and lives to live, healthy priorities.

10. There can be anywhere from 1 to 60 or more stories waiting in front of you depending on the above conditions (average is between 10 and 30). You probably aren’t first in line. Wait times for stories can be anywhere from 10 minutes to 12 hours for us to get to an individual story. Any combination of the issues listed can result in up to a 2 or 3 day wait if it becomes complicated.

Be patient. I’m getting tired of saying this every single day. Pestering us to hurry up and approve your story already is the opposite way to get us to move quicker. There's around 3,000 submissions a month; we'll get to it when we get to it.

Oh, fuck off.

Jk. I'm glad I haven't been writing lately. But I'm gonna submit a story soon, so be prepared for that.

The wait hasn't bothered me ever. Quite frankly, I'm amazed that you all somehow manage to move that quickly! As someone who also has people yelling at them when things aren't done "quickly enough" by people who don't seem to understand what they're talking about, I understand your pain. Some people just aren't thoughtful.

Thank you, Meester and everyone else on the team! You guys rock, and we can't tell you that enough. Woohoo, yay! :yay::heart:

~Doc

I do appreciate the time and effort it takes to do what you need to do and I understand the mods do have lives to live other than Fim-fiction. For what its worth it is appreciated what everyone does. You guys do a lot of work for us.

There seems to be alot of this "hurry up will you" mentality on this site. What with blog posts and story chapters and story approvals. Everybody just needs to chill the fuck out.

diaper fetish or Anon X Celestia clopfic

I have so much sympathy for you poor bastards, I really do.

Yeah, I can see where that might get annoying. There's nothing wrong with telling people to be more patient, and there's nothing they can do, really. The stories are approved when they're approved.

Thank you for putting up with those who make this service a pain.

or Anon X Celestia clopfic during time we should be devoting to family/friends.

You gotta understand mate. We are all Humans here, and Humans tend to get impatient when it comes to things like this.

But still, its good to hear your still with us and that your working hard, both in real life and on this website.

Again, I say thank you! Thank you...

Cheers mate! And Merry Christmas!

Well even though I'm (thankfully) not at the receiving end of over a 1,000 shouting 20 year old's as to why their Christmas clop story hasn't been accepted. I wish you have a merry holiday.

And If it brings you any relief I'm in a somewhat similar position as my brother recently got a remote controlled drone. Which he's using it like a angry bee from hell. So yeah merry Christmas. :pinkiehappy:

Meeester! I appreciate everything that you and all the other story approvers do for us! Thank you so much for reading though all that diaper fetish and anon x pony stuff so that we could have a place to post our stories! You guys are the best! :raritystarry:

We all think we're avid readers but I seriously think the medal should go to these guys. They read about frickin millions of words at a time. Most of it could be crap while others could be the start of a beautiful story. They have been here since the beginning and have seen the start of every great story we know about in this place.

I tip my hat and bow down low to you guys.

It’s a holiday and we can’t be bothered to read another diaper fetish or Anon X Celestia clopfic during time we should be devoting to family/friends.

God bless you guys, I'd have gone insane if I had your job for half as long as you all have. :fluttershysad:

Hope you guys have a great holidays. You do work hard for us. ^^

thanks meeeeeeeeeeeeester.

10/8 would submit a anon x celestia ship again.

You must put up with literacy Hell.

Hmmm. What are you trying to say?

I'm dearly sorry for bothering you guys.

It's true but as long as yoor stories aren't too mature then you can just use auto submit (which I love by the way)

I don't know where to ask this but Meeester how and when does an author get auto submitting?

2 approved stories.

I wrote a fic. It was my first fic ever. It was a Twilight (Insert Sparkle here) fic. For April Fools. It didn't get approved until the 2nd.

It made it better, from "OMG KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!1!":raritycry: to "Please kill it with fire.":fluttershysad:

I dunno, I found the whole thing hilarious. Much kudos to you guys and gals!

This may sound ignorant of me but I really don't know. What is auto submitting about? Saw it below and had no clue what is was.

Sorry for asking pointless questions. :twilightsheepish:

I honestly don't think it's even a thing. Somebody out there would most likely abuse it, if they had it. That is, in my opinion of course.

Users with 2 approved stories are able to bypass moderation and post their story directly. It is still subject to the same story submission guidelines, but may be posted at the author's leisure.

Oh, I see. Makes sense now.

Good to know.

You all need to be thanked more. I have known this is what you all go through, which is why it makes me mad when people complain about you all. In the end you all are humans, and a story is still a story. You have a job that I would never want, and you do it well.

Thank you for keeping this site together

4033755 Do you mind explaining how to actually access that feature? I have 2 stories (both are teen rated), do I have to have two E rated stories in order to access it? If it's just that you need to have 2 stories then where and how do I access it?

Oh wow, you guys do a lot of work then, yikes. Thank you all for taking so much time with this and modding so many stories then, I hope you don't get too many people being jerks all things said.

Cheers guys!

While I can't speak for everybody, I'm getting a little irritated by how vague people are when they turn a story down for approval.

If all that it needed are a couple of small changes, then so be it, but if there is "absolutely no way that a story will ever be approved" because something that's fundamental to the story conflicts with the site's rules then it would be easier if the person moderating the site could come out and say it directly.

For example (Totally made up and not actually reflecting a real story): If I write a story that deliberately has somebody acting out of character in a dramatic way as a core part of the story, and the fact that they are acting out of character is the whole purpose of the story because I'm making some kind of commentary on social expectations in Equestria using irony as a writing tool, then a comment saying "The story needs to be more MLP", won't help at all, because nothing short of a total re-write to put that character back in character would allow it to be approved.

Why must there be an approval process anyways??

4176234 Heheheheheheheheheheheh, ok I get it now :derpytongue2: you get a follow for making me laugh

Wow...that sound hard. Lucky for you i can't write story's:derpytongue2:

This was absolutely hilarious. I will keep it in mind though, no clopfics during holidays.

I submitted two stories, one last week and one yesterday. I read this and I haven't broken any of the rules, so what happened?

You have two stories, each with their chapter published 2 days ago and 1 day ago respectively. The submission queue has been emptied down to zero multiple times in the past week, so I have no clue where you're getting 'last week' from.

>> Meeester
I originally finished it last week, but I didn't realize until later that I was supposed to hit "submit story":facehoof: But I still have no idea how long until they're approved. Guess I'll wait.

*Reads this*
*Removes comment from FAQ page asking why story is taking so long to get approved.*

At first I wasn't getting it, but now I see the "after two approved stories, you can post more without going through moderation" part, and that makes loads more sense to me. Well, atleast this story will be my second!

Edit: Back in 2012, I published and fanfic and it was approved (then I deleted it because it was so god awful), and in 2015 I published another one and it was also approved. So now I'm uploading a third story, but I'm still waiting for moderation? Is it because I deleted the first one, and did the fact that it was so old play a factor in this?

Thanks for the help and the awesome site to post these stories! You guys are really awesome!

thank you for what you do. I'm sorry if we all seem ungrateful at times.

4033755 I'd like to say sorry for a story that i made. It's called Baby in Equestria. At first when i got rejected i thought that i should remove the dubbel spaces in the text. That's when it got sent to you, i probably made other stories back up, which could have been avoided if i had read through your PM better.

It's so that i don't have a story submitted, so i was exited when i first sent it away. I also hope that, if you wouldn't mind :fluttershysad:, could read the story when you have time. This whole letter probably is wery sassy, (is that the right word?) although i don't mean it. If you have no problem with it, could you answer this?

Sincerely,

Dr_Tornado

PS: ya doing a great job, keep doing it:DS:heart:

Yes... I'm not perfect dude or anything. But at least I don't expect approvals to be bloody instant. I'm glad that you people devote time to your lives and family. It's cool, dude. I even sit and question if the people who fret over internet sites every day, and post daily content like videos, even have lives.

And I fucking hate diaper fetish, don't get me started...

I admit, sometimes I'm impatient, but not super much. I check back every 8-12 hours and see if what I've done has gone up or not. I've been doing that with a recent thing I've submitted, but this is mainly because I underestimated the wait time it would take for approval. It's been about 40 hours, so eh.

Then again, I'm doing another super niche thing so... eh.

Sometimes I do wish I knew where I was on the queue though. That way I could plan my stuff better for... next submission.

Thats the reason why i post my story before i go to bed. After 6 to 8 hours sleep its mostly done

But Meester! I just had a two day wait, how could that have possibly happened? It's not like your Family life is possibly more important than my 4000 word clopfic that is going to change the world! How could you possibly think that your so called "adorable" niece is more important than a stranger's fetishy internet story? How?

But seriously. Thanks for doing the hard work! I appreciate that you manage it at all. It would feel like a waste of time to me, and I read plenty of stories on this site willingly. I'll use the auto approval process for things when I can, it's just that when I'm unsure, I don't want to abuse it. So thanks again for your time and effort!

7&8 were definitely funny.

I'm new to this site so now I understand what the hold up is.

I'm glad that you posted this blog explaining the reasons why our stories are not submitted right away. Hopefully when people read this, they'll understand that you and the other staff have lives and that the world doesn't revolve around them.

Well four or five weeks ago I signed on to have an account to write a story idea I have had for 8 years I never had to complain about it taking so long for the story to be approved as much as I want my story approved as you all the other owners of fimfiction have your own lives to live as I have my own as well, I just have to make sure I add all the required tags, and everything else that has to be done for the story to be approved, I already read the rules I just have to make sure its done right other then that I can wait, had to wait a week for a response that I left out a crossover tag thanks for letting me know about that again but I fixed it so I just have to wait again.

People just can't put themselves in the eyes of their contractors.
