FNAF: In regards to the dream theory, what really happened? · 6:25am Dec 27th, 2015
Me, on the dream theory (originally written in the comment section of the videos in question, so any uses of "you" refer to the Game Theorist"):
Now, I didn't watch the full live stream so this may have been covered already. But, there's this nagging thing that halts the dream theory. While all the pieces are there, there's something that doesn't add up. You said in the previous video that Chica's beak falling off was something crucial. And that everything he saw in his dreams was based off of these toys. Now that we've covered that, there's a pressing matter. The crying child died at one of the first locations, in the time of FredBear. If the toy animatronics were based on the plastic and the original 5 as plushes, did these locations ever even exist? There's a chain of events, with 4 game locations shown and two that we're aware of. He dies around the time of the second location. If this is the case, wouldn't he have to have predicted the future for the rest to have happened? If the other locations are simply created by his mind and based off of only things he'd seen, surely any future locations would look different. So did FNAF 1 or 2 ever happen? Were they ever real locations? Did Fazbear Frights ever get set up? How long was the kid in his coma before he died? Could he have been made aware of ongoing events and melded them into his subconscious? More than that, was purple man ever truly brought to justice, or was this only a nice thought in a dying child's mind? Phone guy was like nothing more than a mix kf ideas in this kid's head and not someone he knew, and surely never someone he worked with, having never worked as a night guard. So, does any of what phone guy says count as information? If what's been relayed in these games is mostly just a dream, based on little info, what really happened. Every theory has been merely a theory on what a child dreamed up, an attempt to make sense of a brain. So what really happened? What happened after this child died and how did it affect the franchise? The crying child could not possibly know of things that he wasn't alive to witness. So what did happen? Does Scott even know? If this is all a dream, then almost all the speculation was just analyzing and digging through the contents of an intricate chain of nightmares. The dream theory stirs up many new questions. What really happened? As everything we've seen has been a blur of reality and fantasy and we're not getting a new game, we will never know what happened on this kid's timeline. Perhaps Scott's book Silver Eyes is what really happened. It needn't follow the game's story, as it was mere predictions from a child. Silver Eyes could show is the real truth that could never be found out. There are two realities: a dream world where there are possessed animatronics who bring justice, and a dark world where there is only a serial killer and an abandoned franchise, left behind. If Silver Eyes is the truth, and I have yet to finish the book, then the franchise never continued and the crying child was the last straw. But maybe Silver Eyes isn't canon and we can't base reality off of that. We don't know what happened out in the world. And now I'm more curious than ever.
