But after all this time...
Through Crimson Eyes finally has a full rough draft!
I've finished all of my initial writings, and it's come up to a total of about 64 chapters (most of them are under 2,000 words, though). For those of you that saw my previous blog about Crimson (and care enough that you planned to take my advice), don't go in for that re-read just yet.
I seriously debated even posting this blog, but I thought you'd all like an update. I'm finished with classes for the semester this Friday, so I'll have much more time to work, though I can't say the same for my editor. He and I intend to go through the story again from the beginning, because considering the fact that I started this story over two years ago, there are probably a few minor improvements that we could make (but what's published of the actual storyline now shouldn't change much, if at all). However, he's a very busy man, so I don't want to pressure him to get this done too quickly (besides, I'm also editing for him in return, so we'll be swapping). The chapters that are already published probably won't take too long to go over again, but there's a lot to do after that, and I want his advice on a few spots I was kind of stuck on for a little while.
After we're done, I'll update the already-published chapters all at once, then probably start publishing one new chapter every day. That's when I would suggest starting a re-read if you intend to do so. Unless you're a binge-reader, it should take you enough time to go through the chapters that you won't have to wait too long for the whole product to be published.
Aside from all that, now that I'm finally going to be publishing the rest of the story, I'll get to share the wonderful artwork that was provided by the awesome Ayemel! I also have a side story that's been ready for publishing for a while that I can finally publish, but I refrained from doing so because it contains spoilers. I'll publish it after the entirety of Crimson is published.
Oh, and FYI, after I'm done with all things Crimson-related, I'll FINALLY be jumping back to working on A Daughter and Her Dragon. Many people have been asking me when it's going to continue, and I've consistently said "after Crimson is done." Now that it will be within the next few months, Cotton will finally get the attention she deserves. Just be warned: I've been having some massive writer's block on the details of where to go next with that story, so I might take a little while. I MIGHT recruit an assistant or two, but no guarantees.
Happy Holidays, everyone!
