Actually, I'm Dead - Autopsy: Anatomy lesson · 5:42am Dec 15th, 2015

Well, look at that, I'm doing these again. Sorry for the lack of an editorial on Chapter 13, but because I've been too busy with university, I couldn't come up with anything on time before publishing Chapter 14.

Now, let's get down to business. What the hell is Trixie's body now? Well, let's break it down, part by part.

The canon so far
First of all, we have the necroplasm. From the notes and commentaries on the previous chapters, specially in the interludes, we know some things about it. For starters, it's thicker than blood, but it can replicate some of it properties. It's been described as liquefied dark magic in and out of universe, and the Alicorn Amulet seems to be hable to produce it. If it's filling the same blood-like function from before or something else is still to be resolved.

When Berry Punch, the first pony to see beast!Trixie, saw her eyes, she compared it to reptilian ones. Same did Twilight. They are red and either can glow in the dark, or are reflector, like feline ones. An apparent middle ground between reptilian appearance and feline functionality. Trixie seems to be very sensible to light too, since she describes it as harmful and her reaction to being exposed to it was to attack its source.

She also seems to be more predatory, or at least her body is more suited for hunting now. Claws described to be as sharp as knifes and that are able to hurt the krytonian-like alicorn. Same with the fangs, even if there's no mention of sharpness, the bite is strong enough to actually break alicorn's bones. From Luna's thoughts and how Trixie she describes Rainbow Dash as noticeable smaller, she seems to be taller now. This, combined with enhanced speed and reflexes and an apparently higher pain threshold, has put Trixie almost at Luna's level in a fight. However, her strength seems to remain at normal levels if she can't break free from leather straps.

Her tail is now less of an appendix and more of a secondary limb. So far, it's fast and light enough to whip against the floor, but it can also have enough precision to be used as a tool. The pointed end is hard and small as a lock pick.

Finally, her fur has a differently colored outline of the Alicorn Amulet over her chest. What does it even means has yet to be discovered.

What canon didn't told you
- Her horn is now sharpened, not curved.
- Her ears are now curved and pointed, like a devil's horns.
- She has little fangs, more like unusually long canines.
- Her fur is now darker.
- She's effectively darker and edgier.

Well, that's all I can say for now without adding spoilers. More details should appear in the next chapter.

See ya.

P.D.: Trivia: In Todd McFarlane's Spawn, the titular character's full denomination is Hellspawn, which could be either interpreted as a Hell Spawn, or a Hell's Pawn. Both uses are widely accepted by the fanon, while word of god has never confirmed or denied the validity of the second one.

Bigger than a pony, sharp teeth, claws, tail is a grasping appendage, pointy ears, etc...
You seem to be describing Daring Do's nemesis.

Now I want to draw this new Trixie.
The details given should be enough, right? :unsuresweetie:

Well, she was just brought back from the dead by an ancient and evil mcguffin. Of course she looks like a villain. But, in all honesty, the coincidence was entirely accidental.

I suppose. There are a couple of details I need to consult with 'Walker yet, like the presence of a cutie mark or not, but most of it was already shown in the fight chapter and it's compiled here.

P.S.: Forgot to add, but her fur is also darker. Yes, combined with the sharp horn, claws and teeth, it means this is a darker and edgier version of Trixie.

So it's closer to Sonic Unleashed, then?

You know, the greatest irony of this story is that what Trixie really needs is a skilled necromancer. Revivifying dead tissue, fleshcrafting, forcing life into the unliving, etc... a master necromancer could still put her back to normal, or close enough to it.
Of course, with necromancy being completely illegal it's doubtful there are any willing to work in Equestria, if any remain at all. Assuming you could find one that wasn't a total monster in the first place.

Yes, combined with the sharp horn, claws and teeth, it means this is a darker and edgier version of Trixie.

Please don't tell me the whole thing has been a build-up to this joke.

If the shout outs introduced in Trixie's mentors end up becoming full blown metatextuality, then she already studied with an occultist with a good idea on necromancy (Hell's Blazer, a.k.a. John effing Constantine), and there's anothere one who actually is a reanimated corpse/ghost/ghoul (Kunai Tail, a.k.a. Scorpion).

And I suppose Sonic Unleashe could be a good comparative, but I'm not really familiar with it, so I'm not going to completely confirm or deny it.

Okay, I won't tell you...

... but it totally was...

... not. In a pure case of fridge logic, i realized after I ran a quick hand drawing into the pony creator.
