Top 5 Video Games that I've Played · 4:15pm Dec 13th, 2015
So, today is my birthday and to celebrate, I’m making a list of the top 5 games that I’ve played
over the years.
Now, let me clarify something, this is not a list of my favorite games, just some of the best games I played. That being said, I will only pick one game per franchise, so I won’t be having two zelda games on this list.
With that out of the way, here are the top 5 video games I’ve played.
Number 5
So, I believe that Mario is a really iconic series.
I mean seriously, Mario has done almost every genre of games.
From the 2D platformer to the RPG to fighting games, he has shown his greatness in all of them.
So, what happens when you take the formula for a 3D Mario Platformer, which he is most iconic for, and add both cats and multiplayer into the mix?
You get one of the most chaotic games ever.
Super Mario 3D World (Wii U)
Well, better start explaining before the Mario fans start rioting.
This was one of the first first games I had on the Wii U and it was a good one.
Considering how much previous Mario games have impressed me over the years, I had high hopes going into this. But what I did not expect was the perfect nature of the game as a whole.
Super Mario 3D World has the platforming of the old 3D Mario games perfected.
It also, like Super Mario Galaxy 2, has several objects to collect. These objects keep the game interesting while the game it self keep raising the difficulty.
I mean, when you get to Star World, the game get’s pretty goddamn hard. I can, however, pass most of the levels in this game relatively easily.
Except for Champion’s Road, fuck that level. Seriously, who the hell thought it was a good idea to play this level five times for 100%!
Number 4
Now, as we all know, the Devil May Cry series is an amazing series of games. Being on the Playstation really helps.
I mean, you beat up demons as a demon slayer known as Dante, who is the son of a demon warrior. Now, there isn’t much that I think of anything better than that kind of game from a different company.
Oh wait, I remembered just one company. That would be Nintendo.
Bayonetta 2 (Wii U)
Oh, boy, I didn’t think I would have that much fun with this game at first, boy was I wrong.
Funny story as to how I came to like the Bayonetta, it was actually through a MLP Fanfic. Not going to say the fanfic, go find that for yourself.
Now, I chose the second game because I had more fun with that one. The combat feels more smooth and more refined from the first game.
Also, do I need to mention the soundtrack for this game. I’m serious, listen to it for a little bit.
Do I need to mention that this is a Nintendo game with partial nudity in it? That’s kind of important.
Number 3
So, we know that Capcom now sucks and has almost no hope of gaining its popularity back. I mean, jesus christ, they have really taken a dive to rock bottom.
Now, note that I said “almost no hope” for Capcom. There is actually a game that was released in 2012 that I do come back to now and again.
I’m not exactly sure when Capcom started to die off in popularity, but this game shows that Capcom still has very good ideas.
Although, I will admit they did share this success with Sega and a few other companies.
Project X Zone (3DS)
Oh, yes, now we get into the games that eat your life away. I love strategy games with a fiery passion, but this is one of the best that I’ve played.
The unique combination of a battle and combo system makes the game extremely interesting. You actually have to participate in battles if you want to win battles.
That and the massive amount of nostalgia and crossing over in this game is absurd. I mean, you got Mega Man X, Devil May Cry, Ghosts & Goblins, Sakura Wars, the .hack series, the list goes on.
Also, the game is really fucking hard, did I mention that?
Number 2
Remember when I said we were getting into the real time wasters? Because now we get into the ones that will take weeks off of your free time.
Now what is this game that can take weeks off your time? Well, it’s a Legend of Zelda game.
That’s all you need to know.
Hyrule Warriors (WiiU)
Yes, out of all the Zelda games I’ve played, I love Hyrule Warriors the. This might seem like a weird choice, but let me explain myself.
For those that don’t know, Hyrule Warriors is a crossover of The Legend of Zelda and Dynasty Warriors. You would think that this wouldn’t turn out very well, but what was created was extremely glorious.
In terms of the game itself, you go around killing thousands upon thousands of enemies as Zelda characters. While repetitive, it never stops being fun.
The gameplay is not what makes me like the game though. It’s the sheer about of content that the game has to offer.
I mean, to 100% this game you have to unlock every character, unlock every weapon, and complete every Adventure mode mission with at least an A rank. Oh, and then there DLC you have to complete.
So, there’s a lot to do in this game.
Number 1
I’m not even going to bother with the bother with the build up.
Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii/ Wii U/ 3DS)
What else did you expect? This is my all time favorite game of all time.
This has the sheer mass of content as Hyrule Warriors while also having a unique type of gameplay.
Oh, and all that content I’m talking about, there are side quests, super bosses, and a huge world to explore.
I can’t really do this game enough justice. For that, I point you to Youtube user Chuggaaconroy, who did a let’s play of this game and covered basically everything in it.
So, that’s my list guys, what do you think of it?
Also, if you want, you can also post your top 5 games you’ve played.
I haven't played any of the games on this list yet but I might consider trying them. Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday Man!
Since you did the one game per franchise rule, I will as well.
Here is my Top 5 Games:
5. Call of Duty World at War - No I do not like this game just for zombies. But it is it's strongest point so... yeah. Though it's story is very good for a Call of Duty game in general (besides the Mordern Warfare Series). I just like it because it's fun. Plus people raging in zombies is the best thing to listen to.
4. Halo Reach - This game I received was when I was a Xbox Geek. I love the way the game uses it's main group of characters (The Noble Team) and how they play such important and great roles with you. Plus it's Multiplayer and Forge mode are some of the best game modes.
3. Pokemon Platinum - This game actually got me into the mainstream of gaming and I am very grateful for it. I loved the many Pokemon that it introduced to it's many other types during this generation, especially Darkrai and Dialga. It's locations are great to look at and some are well... creepy... god damn Old Chateau... Plus Cyrus = Best Pokemon Villan.
2. Garry's Mod - The game with many game modes. The game with many servers that have too much added mods and such. But it's game modes like Stop it Slender, Prop Hunt, Murder, Hide and Seek, and many more are so much fun to not play. Plus this game can be used to teach people on how to make Character Designs, Maps, and other things for a game and maybe even a cartoon. And people say that video games are to blame for many criminals.
1. Rumble Fighter - This game many people probably have never heard of before. This game is basically a MMO Free for All Fighting Game where you fight to gain XP and it's currency Carats. It's very fun to play with free for all or teams and it's other game modes such as arena (get as many kills as you can), Moving Screen (You move with the autoscrolling screen, avoiding and defeating your opponents while trying to not to go off screen and die), King of the Hill (kinda obvious on what it is) and many more.
