I didn't want EQG 3 to be super similar and I planned this way before Dean Cadance of Crystal Prep was a thing- Chrysalis and her are going to have a different role in the story. (They will be very important in Rainbow's story) . Though I do have plans to make Crystal Prep a tad different since I'm fixing that whole issue of coming up with this mess of fun before the trailer of EQG 3 came out. I'm thinking Starlight Glimmer would be a cool person that takes the place of Dean. I have a lot of ideas for hinting at a lot of different things.
I mean I have the general outline of the movies here but I threw out everything since I cab only take so many Equestria Girls fics.
And if Applejack and Sunset act a tad monstrous, they already had their moments- I just haven't shown their stories yet.
Though lets just say that Sunset has to deal with Angels and Demons. And Applejack with Werewolves. And both of those happen on and around Fall Formal.

I got about ten or so other plots that involve Equestria Girls. And I'll find a way to make everything work. Actually everything didn't work together until I thought of a CMC story where they become a heavy metal band- weird comedy story I came up with and for some reason Pinkie kept appearing as a zombie in plots.
Its been very weird and bugging me for a long time. Fluttershy's story is just the first because Flutterbat is a much more recognizable character than Sunset Shimmer possessed by a Prince of Hell. Very, very weird.
So yeah its been kicking around in my head since the first movie came out. I only started writing down ideas once the Equestria Girls tag came on the site.

Don't worry, I am planning them right as we speak. And I found a way to have "Nightmare Moon" in the first story with Sunset.
Or at least a nice little comedic incident.
Let's just say that Luna's going to be in Alcoholics Anonymous for quite a while (hence why she's only Vice Principal)
