About Blogs and star wars & fallout equestria comparison part 1 · 12:25am Dec 1st, 2015

The next few Blogs I plan to put out with just be me talking about various things both mlp and other interest of mine. This blog will be me just talking about star wars and fallout equestria. I also plan to just release the first chapter of my story: Arecha no Ken, it will probably be rewritten but for now I going to post it.

Now to the Blog

and

Two good stories that have created their own universes, their own lore, and their own fandom. Both are stories that tale a modern day epic told with modern ideas, but both have hit me in such a way they both become favorites of mine. Now there are a lot that are different about both works, the lease of one being a space fantasy movie and a dark sci-fi fantasy. But I believe most similarities are on a symbolic and meaning level than anything else. I guess will star with tributes.

Star wars is a tribute to many movies before it, and mixes many ideas to create something new. If one would truly describe star wars they would say it's a space fantasy, samurai film, epic, western, with a story that's told in parts rather than a full pack. It's the story of a boy who goes on a quest to save a princess, a boy who takes the role of a jedi (samurai like warriors) in his quest to defeat a evil set of jedi, it's the story of a rebellion to overthrow a evil empire, it's the story of a smuggler who owes money to a drug lord who sends bounty hunters after him. Star wars does what all good fiction does, takes already made ideas and reuses them in a way that's different but feels the same.

Fallout Equestria does a similar idea. It's the fusion of mlp and fallout but it takes both and reworks them in a way that feels different, it takes the hopeful tone of mlp and the dark reality of fallout uses both to achieve good storytelling. It also borrows from other media such as Babylon 5 with it's grey characters and complex storytelling to create an even more changing story.

Fallout Equestria is written in such way it can be read without context to what certain things are, star wars is the same. Both retell old stories and pay tribute while also telling a story that feels new and stands up on it's own.

This is going to be the first part of a series of blogs, next I will go into them and characters, and then lore.
