Season 5 Episode Rankings, From Worst to Best · 12:21am Dec 1st, 2015
Time to see how the episodes of Season 5 stack up. Remember, this is just my opinion. This is going to be kind of tricky though, considering how good most of the episodes were.

Wow, you hated 3 episodes worse than Princess Spike?
3582941 The thing is, the episode switches direction three times, and it can't seem to decide what it wants to focus on. The episode is a jumbled mess. Is it supposed to be about Spike feeling unappreciated? Is it supposed to be about Spike making decisions in Twilight's name to give her a break? Is it supposed to be about Spike abusing his connection to Twilight for his own benefit? And it punishes him for the things he did under Cadence's instructions, while ignoring the deeds he did that were actually selfish.
"Castle, Sweet Castle" had a B plot that was completely absurd and required the rest of the mane six to hold the idiot ball. "Appleloosa's Most Wanted" only became important in hindsight, and even then it brought back the typical Applejack/Apple Bloom conflict that we've already seen badly done in "Bridle Gossip" and "Somepony to Watch Over Me". And "What About Discord?" tried to make up for a poorly thoughout and contradicting story with impressive visuals from Discord. The highlight was seeing Twilight get called out for accusing Discord and not believing that he could change. Yet this is the same pony who extended forgiveness to someone who tried to change the course of history just a few episodes later. Between the two, I think I'd sooner forgive someone who at least tried to make up for their mistakes, as opposed to someone who wanted to let the world burn because they couldn't see past their own short sighted views.
The only match between this full version and how I'd rank them (at least so far, I'll post my full rankings later this week, so I don't know for sure if there are any other matches) is that we both have CotLM as number 1.
So far, the only obvious changes I'd make are:
I'd swap The Cutie Re-Mark and The Cutie Map.
Appleoosa's Most Wanted would be at the bottom, followed by Griffonstone, then Princess Spike, then Made in Manehatten.
