Why I Don't Write Here Anymore

I suppose it's been on my mind for a long time, but it never really occurred to me until recently. And because a few of you have been waiting for some projects I promised I'd finished, you deserve to know, as well.

    This exists . . .

This is a thing that exists. This was made with effort, and money.

And Hasbro actually put their name on this.

    . . .

    . . .

    . . .

I'm gonna step away from this one.

My good friend needs some support

You all probably know HudsonHawk, especially if you know me. Even though I've never met the man in person, he's my best friend on this site, on the internet, and probably ever.

    Embarking on a new venture

Recently I discovered a site for content creators called Daisie. It allows people to post their work and ask for collaborators, and it was created by actress Maisie Williams, whom many of you might know as Arya Stark from Game of Thrones.

Submitted a new story · 1:36am Nov 30th, 2015

It'll suck. People will hate it. It'll get downvoted to hell. But I submitted it anyway.

Maybe I really am mentally ill . . . .

Why do you think people will hate it? :fluttershysad:

Where's the new story? Also, I hope you being to feel better someday, then you'll be able to post Sunset's entry in the Steam collection.

3580186 I just submitted it. I don't know when it'll get published.

3580191 Wait. Either your new story is a random to-be-liked story that everyone else is gonna like(quit focusing more on the downvotes), or the new story is Sunset's entry in the Steam collection. Maybe this'll help:

All you gotta do is smile.... Heh heh heh.... Even in the darkest of corners lie specks of light....

We're all here for you, LightningSword.... You gotta stop moping, or you're sure to have a Bad Time....

I really worried about you. I think you may need to talk to a counsellor.

3580278 I've been trying to tell him that for a while. I don't know what's going on.

Seriously, PM me if you need to talk LS.

I think we....Need to collab on a story together, my friend :)

Aka

The Time Has Come...

Dude...

I know of a few hotlines that can offer some counseling if you need it. They are toll free and I highly suggest calling them if you're having negative thoughts. Just PM me, and I'll send you the phone numbers.

I often find myself wondering what you're going on about, LS. I've said this several times before to other writers on this site, as well as others. As writers putting our work out in the public, we're going to get opinions from others. Some of those opinions may in the form of downvotes from those who simply don't have the guts to post what they think in the comments. (Seeing this, they'll downvote this comment. You watch and see.) Then, of course, there's always a comment or two, some good, some bad. It happens. It's part of the writer's world, part of our particular dimension.

To put it in the words of the 19th century playwrite, Oscar Wilde, "The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.

I always thought that was a brilliant and positive thing to say since, to me, it clearly highlights and underscores one simple thing: whether comments be positive or negative, you are being talked about and that is the core of publicity!

Publicity, whether it be good or bad, is what gets your work known to others, it's how you build your name and reputation as a writer and, as writers, we want our stories to be read by as many as are willing to take the time to read them.

So! don't worry about downvotes or comments. Be glad that there were those who took the time to check your work out and who, by their own words, be they positive or negative, are actually helping you to become better known.

I thought it was good great ending and great author's note.
