To whom it may concern 2: an explanation of my recent absence from the site and plans for the future

So, as some of you may have noticed I haven't been very active on this site as of late. In fact my page has been so dead that when I came back I was kind of taken aback by the changes on the site. Heck, I have even missed a majority of this new season of MLP.

    I am back baby!

Yes, after a lengthy time period I am finally back to this site. Of course, I never left it truly, but I have been largely inactive due to some personal issues. However, those issues have been resolved for now and I can finally dedicate some time for this wonderful site. I do hope to finally complete the Darkrim story that has been on the backburner for a while now and begin a new secret project

My thoughts on critics and critcism

Well, this has been a long time coming. Now, before you say anything, yes I know there are a lot of users that have already discussed the 'issues' of criticism, but I think this is a topic that bares repeating, since it is one of the most important steps in growing as an author. Learning to accept critcism and learn from it can easily turn an awful author into an actual decent writer. However,

    Hear yee hear yee!

As some of you may have noticed, I have not been quite active on this site as of late. This is, unfortunately, due to my highly busy college schedule. My classes start very early and end late, so I barely have time to even rest. Because of this, I have set my latest installment of Battle for Tartarus (yes that's the official name of these fanfics now)saga (Darkrim and the Elements of Harmony)

So I just watched the finale... · 12:37am Nov 29th, 2015

And it was absolutely positutly the most AMAZING episode yet. Talk about a way to finish the best season in style. Now before I get into the jist of it I would just like to put a SPOILER WARNING for all you who still haven't seen it. Go watch it right now! Do not proceed if you do not do so. I will not be held accountable for a spoiled anything!

You done? Good

Now to start off this was a huge change from the usual format of these season finales. Usually we would have a new baddie come from whatever hellhole (a.k.a. Tartarus) that the writers would come up with, but that was most certainly not the case here. No no, here we have ALL the baddies return in a glorious What If scenario.

The biggest surprise was Sombra's war. I mean the way AJ talked about it it sounded like the pony version of Vietnam. Especially the whole 'everypony has to do their part to help the cause'. Like wow! Talk about maturity in a kids show. Sombra really pulle off the whole 'evil dictator role' and I loved his army of cyborg ponies. Also the fact he was able to take over HALF of Equestria was pretty impressive . But did he really need those silly looking green and purple flames. Nothing screams 'fear me' like flame mascara I guess lol.

The Chrysalis future was impressive as well, but it made me realize one crucial thing. We desperately need more Zecora episodes! I mean she was just the most epic thing in there especially when she went all Leonidas in Chrysalis face. Very impressive. Also Fluttershy saying 'all servants of Queen Chrysalis must be eliminated' was just the dardnest thing. She's cute even when she's handing out death threats.

The other alternate future is my most anticipated one, the Nightmare Moon future. I was hyped up for this one since I saw the trailer and let me tell you one thing: it did not disappoint. It also seems like that was the best future. Say what you want but at least NMM didn't start pony 'nam. Also it was freaking epic to see the 'Lunar brigade' armor being employed once more and Rainbow with a buzzcut looks too awesome lol. I also like how Twilight tricked her. It was just hilarious to me.

Now as for the rest of the episode, it was just amazing. It was quite intriguing to see how change one little event can do such damage to the future. Starlight really shone through in this episode as I saw a bit of Luna in her (especially when she talked about her abandonment issues) and in one episode they managed to build her entire character in a way that I really wasn't expecting. The ending where Twilight essentially becomes her mentor was the second biggest heartmelting moment for me (the first one being when she reunites with Moondancer who has an exceptionally amazing cameo here btw) and it really shows that anyone can change for better.

One of the biggest motifs in this season seems to be redemption. From DT's redemption as a bully to even Twilight's very own redemption as a 'bad friend' to even Luna's final redemption of Nightmare Moon (first the world forgave her but now she was finally able to forgive herself). All these clues have beeb left out for us only to lead to Starlight's confession and final redemption.

Another underlying motif I noticed was cause and effect. This motif can be best spotted in the afore mentioned 'Amending fences' episode where a small change left a pony friendless and bitter to the world (really this episode seems to be the core of the season). Another instance of cause and effect was Diamond Tiara herself. The pressure her mother placed on her back caused her to be the bully that, eventually, evefy pony turned their back to and by helping her understand that the CMC finally got their cutie marks. Another instance of cause and effect was in the very premier where Starlight took away everypony's cutie mark causing them to lose a part of their individuality and their essence just to further her own agenda of a seemingly perfect world. It all culminated in this fantastic perfection of an episode.

So there you have it. My thoughts on this amazing episode (and the entire season). I really have nothing but praises for this season and its beautiful finale. The alternative Equestrias were a bit of a headcannon fodder for me, but Starlight Glimmer was the true star of the show (pun somewhat intended). I really love this beautiful season and here's to hoping that next one is just as good or even better. Until then enjoy in the fanfictions that will spawned from it.

ALL HAIL THE PRINCESS OF THE NIGHT!

The biggest surprise was Sombra's war. I mean the way AJ talked about it it sounded like the pony version of Vietnam. Especially the whole 'everypony has to do their part to help the cause'. Like wow! Talk about maturity in a kids show.

Think the World Wars, instead of Vietnam. In both World Wars, there was significant sacrifice even on the American Home Front to sustain the war effort, which did not happen in any of the wars after World War II. This is also pretty much what happens during parts of the Shadow Wars, especially the Great Changeling War, but Equestria is starting from a higher tech level and industrial base at that point.

The Chrysalis future was impressive as well, but it made me realize one crucial thing. We desperately need more Zecora episodes! I mean she was just the most epic thing in there especially when she went all Leonidas in Chrysalis face.

Even more epic when one considers that Zecora knew that she was doomed, win or lose. If Twilight won, Zecora's whole worldline might well cease to be. Zecora was sacrificing herself and her whole rebel village for the chance that somewhere, some other version of Ponykind might live free.

Nightmare Moon was the only one of the alternate enemies Twilight faced who figured out most of what Twilight was doing and the potential of that much power. She also briefly displayed some of Luna's personality, when she looked sad about Celestia having banished her to the Moon. Also, she lost in part because Twilight was tricky, but also in part because she held back a little at the end -- I like to think that this was Luna restraining the Nightmare, possibly because she had recognized who Twilight Sparkle had been to her (in the Shadow Wars Story Verse).

The most lifeless of those futures looked like Fallout: Equestria.

Yeah. The Sombra world was an essence copy of the first war for countries on the forefront, mainly the UK.

What I liked, though, is that they didn't use any broken time physics. They did everything correctly without mentioning the broken laws from faulty theories.

I'm curious about Starlight, though. She's clearly a magical prodigy, like Starswirl. She might be the next Starswirl, actually.

3582409 To be honest I was surprused at how well they handled the whole time travel scene but I ak even MORE surprised at how freaking powerful Starlight is (which would stand to reason considering her feat at the season premiere but still...). Now I know who's going to teach Darkrim time traveling (not saying that I'll go there but...)

3582561 If you do then I'll have to share my time travel theories with you. I actually did read up as many theories on it and noticed they all had collisional paradoxes, except for the Dimensional String Theory. That one is completely unfeasible and IS, itself, a paradox.

3584060 Well, if I ever decided to do a time traveling plot I'lldefinitely need your help (seeing as how I understand only the basics of a single theory). BTW, I am almost done with my studies so I should start ack on Darkrim's newest chapter sometime next week

-sigh- you know, even with me being a Sunset Shimmer fan, I still support Starlight Glimmer's reformation. mainly my favorite scene from that season finale was in the 2nd part during when Twilight forgives Starlight. it was just so heartwarming seeing that happen.

4448781 Admittedly Shimmer's transition was a bit better, but this one was still relatively well executed and overall ver heart warming. Oh and thanks for the follow as well

4449256 yeah. I just can't help but look back at that scene whenever I have the chance. I just don't get it that ever since after the season 5 finale, many Bronies have a hard time watching the show nowadays, mainly because of Starlight Glimmer. I mean seriously, Starlight Glimmer is such an underrated character with so many Bronies keep overhating her way too much. I'm trying to stand out and prove that Starlight Glimmer isn't such a bad character at all. my own personal advice for when I watch the show is that just watch it for fun and not listen to the negative opinions.

your welcome. I can tell by your profile picture that you like Princess Luna, right? me too. Princess Luna is my 9th favorite character, but she is also my favorite Royal Princess.

4449436 Looking back the transtion could have been done a bith more smoother (like if we had seen a bit more of Starlight during the season so that we wanted her to make the change), but still Glimmer as a character is great. A lot of episodes after the finale really helped to cement her as a stable member of the main cast and as the show went on she really strted to grow on me too.

Her controversy is merely a drop in the whole 'brony outrage' phenomena. First there was outrage over Season three (which isn't as bad as many claim). Then there was outrage over alicorn Twilight (which is STILL a thing mind you). Then the Glimmer outrage, uickly followed by Baby Alicorn outrage. Any major change to the show is met with some scorn. Personally the only change I kinda disliked is what they did to the Changelings at the end of Season 6.

Again, I understand why some bronies wouldn't like these changes, but personally I believe most worked out for the best in the end. It's kinda like the 2012 Looney Tunes Show. It has some split over it, but most get used to it all and enjoy the show.

Princess Luna is my absolute favorite chaacter. In fact it is because of her that I started watching MLP and it is because of her that I joined the fandom as well. In fact she has become one of my favorite characters in animation. There is a sort of Shakesperian like tragedy to her character and the way she struggles with her past. I also adore Celestia and I wish that there were more episodes centered around the two. The inner workings of the Diarchs as well as the way they run their country has always fascinated me as well as the mythos and lore surrounding their past. Of course I adore the rest of the main cast as well (Twilight being my favorite, since I identify myself with her the most), but there is just something captivating about Luna.

4449494 Wow. that's a lot to say. I tend to say that sometimes :twilightsheepish:

btw, out of all of Starlight Glimmer's two different mane styles, her season 5 mane style and her season 6 mane style.... I kind of like her season 6 mane style because it shows that she has changed from her evil ways and, Heh, she does look cute with that mane style :3

so anyways, hopefully if it is true that Season 7 of MLP: FIM will start airing on April 15th, 2017, then I will be doing one thing to get ready for it: watching all of my MLP DVD's in this order:

Complete Season 1
Complete Season 2
Complete Season 3
Equestria Girls
Complete Season 4
Equestria Girls Rainbow Rocks
Complete Season 5
Friendship Games
Legend of Everfree

speaking of Luna, during last year when Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon came out, since Game Freak didn't reveal what the two Player Characters default names were.... I picked Pokémon Moon and I picked the female player character and guess what name I went for the female player character in my copy of Pokémon Moon?
