Elements of Humanity cancelled, starting fresh with a new idea

So I finished Elements of Humanity in mid 2015. However, I realized that when I was rewriting it, the story completely broke from my original intention. As I had people proofread it in my small group of friends, I did receive the needed grammar edits and contradiction findings, but I also received a lot of "ideas" on what to do next. I ended up liking the ideas and incorporated most of them.

Basically, the book became a big fan service book to my friends as opposed to what I originally wanted. I did not feel proud of it, and I have only given it to my friends to read. They understand how I feel.

I've spent a good amount of any free time I had after finishing elements of humanity to devote to an entire idea that was 100% my own. I wanted to go back to something dark. I figured a crossover with dark souls and MLP would be a good theme for me, given how much Dark Souls is in my blood. I made damn sure that I had all the lore details written down, had my facts cross-examined by several people while NOT considering any ideas for changes to the lore facts, and now I have tons of footnotes on what happened to most of the ponies when the Dark Souls curse came to Equestria. Using those footnotes, I hope to write a story of one OC's journey through Equestria with this curse.

This is proving to be fun for me to write, as I'm basically playing in the environment set in my imagination, and reinforced by very helpful footnotes to make sure all characters and objects seen in the story have a purpose.
